That sounds good to me. Is there a site where it will give me a step by step guide on dubia breeding, etc?

You can keep them in your garage. My set up (which is the same as most peoples. i actually have about 3 of these set ups by the way) I have 18 gallon sterilite tub. I cut a hole out of the top over the half with the food/water gel. its about 6 inches x 10 inches. I cover this wish mesh wire. I also put a strip of clear packing tape around the inside top of the tub. dubias can't climb anything slick (the tape for instance) They have a hard time climbing the tub though. I have never had any escape by climbing out on their own as I have never seen one be able to scale the tub. Only time i have had them get loose is them coming off the egg crates when i move them around. Put a heat mat on one side. this is there to keep the heat up around 85-95 degrees. this will entice them to mate more. You can buy roach chow from many places online, or do research and make you own. You must make sure you always have water gel available for them to keep them hydrated. and keep you some vegetables/fruit in there also so they have some variance to just the chow. I know this might sound like alot, but they really are SUPER easy. just keep an eye to remove any if any die. and remove the fruit/vegetables before they spoil as you don't want to creat a mold/fungus problem. and like she said, they need higher temps to breed. So, if you keep your house as about 90 degrees and pitch black then you MAY have a problem...but if your a normal person, your house is too cold for them to even be happy surviving in (they will survive for a while, but they wont like it :) )

It should be fine. I use reptical as vitamins and fluckers as my calcium. But I was with D3. Some people use with D3 some dont. It is whatever you want to use. I use with D3 so I know they are getting it for sure.

mkay, I think I might use with D3 so I know for sure there getting it. Also instead of using a tubed light can I use a another UVB bulb? like coil or something else?

Never use a coil it can hurt their eyes. You can use a powersun bulb though. I personally don't use that kind but I am sure if you make a post someone who does can help you

Oh he is cute :). I found this info in my lists if saved stuff. It might be helpful for you.
Hi there! Here is a list of everything you would need for a brand new dragon!

a) tank - you could start with a 20 gallon long, but your baby will need a 40 gallon breeder quickly, so might as well just start with that. If he is intimidated by that, you can partition it with some cardboard or something temporarily.
b) substrate of your choice (but nothing loose) - I would highly suggest slate tile. It is very similar to their natural habitat, is cheap, easy to clean, keeps muscles toned and nails trim. Other options are reptile carpet, non-adhesive shelf liner, and paper towel/newspaper. Your call really.
c) basking spot (rock or log, either from outside and sanitized, or bought)
d) hide (don't use this for the first couple weeks so your baby doesn't hide instead of bask and acclimate)
e) other tank furniture (a log, a fake tree, vines, fake plant... whatever you want. Just browse the pet store)
f) basking light (whatever wattage gets you to the right temps (105-115F basking spot, aiming for 110F). You can use either a clear household bulb or a basking light from a pet store. Just make sure the bulb is not colored or coated.)
g) basking light clamp lamp fixture
h) 3M command hooks
i) under cabinet fluorescent fixture (I got mine at Walmart - I had a heavier one from Lowes, but it kept falling)
j) ReptiSun 10.0 tube
k) Digital thermometer with probe (at least 1, and they should have a hygrometer built in to measure humidity) and/or temp gun
l) a food bowl for salad, and another for worms/roaches (no water bowl - they don't need a water bowl, and it will just raise the humidity. Just be sure to give baths. Do not feed mealworms a bearded dragon, but you can put phoenix worms, silkworms, dubia roaches, waxworms [treat], butterworms [treat], or hornworms [treat] in a bowl. Crickets will not stay in a bowl)
m) If the tank gets below 65F, another dome fixture and a ceramic heat emitter (do not use a red light)
n) (Optional, but really really useful) a power strip with built in timers for lights.
o) supplements - you will need a calcium with D3 powder to be used 5 days a week, one feeding each day for a baby. As an adult, this goes down to 3 feedings a week. You will also need a multivitamin powder. Use this two days a week, one feeding each day for a baby. As an adult, this will drop to 1 feeding a week. I use Rep-Cal and HerptiVite, but other options work as well.
p) If your ambient temperatures are not high enough, you may need an additional light fixture and a lower wattage household bulb to bring up the coolside temp and add extra light.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
