I picked up a 2month old (just shy of 7") BD on sunday from the NY Reptile Expo.
He was nice and plump.
Breeder gave me some minimealworms for him and i picked up 500 1/4" crickets.
I also got him fresh vegetables (collard, turnip, endives, carrot, celery) and some goodies (prickly pear, zucchini blossoms, raisins) - all dusted with Calcium.
He hasn't eaten any of his vegetable or feeders. He just doesnt seem to care for them.
He did poop on Tuesday and drank in his bath on Tuesday (yesterday).
When I place him in the cricket (feeding) container, he just wants to climb out.
Breeder (Dragon Fortress) suggested leaving 2-3 crickets in his cage in case he is just shy to eat when we are around.
I am worried that the crickets may hurt him at night, but guess at least he also has an opportunity to eat them.
I tried hand feeding him, but he wont even open his mouth to taste.
Behaviorally, he is acting totally active and normal, but he does seem to be getting skinnier.
Is there anything i can do to entice him to eat? or is it just a matter of time till he gets comfortable enough in his new home to eat?
How long can he hold up on this hunger strike?
