I picked up a 2month old (just shy of 7") BD on sunday from the NY Reptile Expo.
He was nice and plump.
Breeder gave me some minimealworms for him and i picked up 500 1/4" crickets.
I also got him fresh vegetables (collard, turnip, endives, carrot, celery) and some goodies (prickly pear, zucchini blossoms, raisins) - all dusted with Calcium.
He hasn't eaten any of his vegetable or feeders. He just doesnt seem to care for them.
He did poop on Tuesday and drank in his bath on Tuesday (yesterday).
When I place him in the cricket (feeding) container, he just wants to climb out.
Breeder (Dragon Fortress) suggested leaving 2-3 crickets in his cage in case he is just shy to eat when we are around.
I am worried that the crickets may hurt him at night, but guess at least he also has an opportunity to eat them.
I tried hand feeding him, but he wont even open his mouth to taste.
Behaviorally, he is acting totally active and normal, but he does seem to be getting skinnier.
Is there anything i can do to entice him to eat? or is it just a matter of time till he gets comfortable enough in his new home to eat?
How long can he hold up on this hunger strike?

relocation stress.
It will go soon.
Live food should not be left it at night.
yeah, i dont like leaving them in there overnight either (especially after reading a lot on this forum).
Anything I can do to help ease his relocation stress and get him started?
How long can he go without eating? just till he gets hungry enough to forget about the stress?

I am happy to report that he finally ate a whole bunch of worms tonight. Looks like he is coming around.
how imortant is it for him to have an hour to bask before and after eating? I ask because the lights can only be on 10-14hrs and that would not allow enough time for him to have that hour when I feed him before and after work.

he seems to be eating his worms well now, but i dont think he is eating any of his veggies (hard to tell really) and when i put him in a tub to feed on crickets, he doesnt seem to have any interest in them. he just looks around for a little bit then tries to climb out.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
