New Beardie in the Room

So I just got a new beardie and Lemon's tank is across the room (about 6 ft). It's been a few hours, and I've just seen the first waving and head bobbing. Lemon is around 16" and 400g. Orange Julius is the new beardie and he's only a few weeks old. He started waving when Lemon started bobbing. I just want to know if there's any reason to cover up one or both of the tanks so that they can't see each other.

Honestly it would probably be a very good idea to make it so that Orange Julius and Lemon can't see each other. You said Orange Julius was only a few weeks old? That would mean he's pretty small, and constantly seeing such a bigger dragon than himself would probably stress him out way too much. Remember, in the wild big dragons are natural predators/enemies of babies, so Orange Julius is going to be instinctively terrified of your older dragon. I've heard that too much stress can be very harmful and detrimental to the health of babies. Better safe than sorry in my opinion!

Hope this helps! :blob5:

Those were my same thoughts. Well I can probably over one wall of their tanks so they can't see. They were able to see each other all day yesterday and they seem to have calmed down. They are both eating well and it seems this new beardie has brought Lemon out of brumation. I will let them see each other for a week and note any changes in behavior. Having a blinder ready won't be a problem. I'll just have to monitor them very well.

Thanks for the support! It's been a few weeks since Julius joined the room, and Lemon does not seem the least bit interested in him anymore.

Julius is very alert and doing great! He eats everyday, although he fights me on his greens. It's been a pain trying to "tame" him though and he still bolts every time I put my hand in the enclosure. But I think he'll get used to it after a while. It's only been one month after all!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
