Hello everyone! I am a new bearded dragon owner. My bearded dragon's name is jello. He is about 5.6 inches long. I brought him from petsmart yesterday. He was fed before I brought him home and gave him 4 live crickets and only ate 3. And he had 1 live cricket this morning. I am trying to feed him with commercial food with dried worms and crickets, but he wouldn't eat anything after one bite. I offered him water and had few drops. And had one tiny piece of bell pepper. That's it. :(

How can i help my jello to eat commercial food? :(

I am still getting use to live crickets, so I am trying to feed him commercial food.. but i will try to give him live crickets.. I don't know how much and how often I need to give him live crickets.. :( And How do I keep live crickets at home?

Please help me experts!! :(

get a plastic bin at walmart, remove a section of the lid and attach some screen for airflow. Dump in crix, add tp tubes or egg cartons, and a slice of potato and some greens. They will eat these and get moisture from them too. Your beardie is going through relocation stress and might not eat much at all at first, but as he settles in he will eat more.

What are your temps?
what kind of UVB light are you using?

IME my beardies don't like the commercial food and won't touch the stuff. The sooner you get used to live feeders the better imo.

Since you just got your dragon yesterday, its possible that he is going through relocation stress. Relocation stress can last anywhere from a few days to a week or more. During this time dragons will most likely not eat very much. But after the relocation stress settles, he will be eating you out of house and home.

I am stressed as well.. :( it's my first reptile so.. yeah!! :( Thanks!

the temperature inside his cage is 80'F.

I got a basic desert kit from brand Zilla. It included 10 gallon terrarium, fresh air screen cover, two 5.5" dome light fixtures-- one day white light spot (50 watt) and one night black heat bulb (50 watt) , humidity & temperature gauge.

I am not sure about UVB light.. is day white light spot 50 watt the UVB light? or do I need to purchase another light?

urggggg. im so stressed :(

Beardies need at least a 40 gallon tank. The lights that came in the kit give no UVB, you need a special light for that. The Reptisun 10.0 tube and a fixture for it. What kind of substrate did you get? No sand, it can make them impacted. Also how are you measuring temps? stick on thermometers do not work. You need a digital one. Don't feel bad, most folks get drawn in by the sales pitch.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
