So, beardie fever has hit. I've been content with this one that I've had for two years, thinking she was a he the whole time. Til a gorgeous little citrus boy showed up on my doorstep. Yeah, lucky me. Put signs up, but nothing. So, he's mine. He's a juvie, very vigorous. Mated with my newly discovered female a few times, and she lays a LOT of eggs. I've now messed up and let two clutches go. This time, she's at my local reptile store laying them, and they'll take half. Next time, I'll get an incubator.
Though, I went to a reptile breeders show this weekend, and found myself a Livingston Red X Red Hypo cross baby. I just loved his green and red markings. So, now I have two males, and a female, and two enclosures. They take up a lot of room LOL. Guess I gotta get another one. Beardie fever.
My female is a Sandfire cross, a lot of those around it seems. She is orange colored, and doesn't have much of a pattern, even when non-colorful. She varies a lot. It should be interesting to see how these babies come out, with the citrus male. And it'll be awhile before the yet to be named boy is ready for action ha ha.
He's had it rough so far, at the show all weekend, then me taking a really bad dive in my wheelchair while he was in my front pack. My dog started running, and my wheelchair's wheels fluttered, causing me to flip forward. My pro camera took most of it, and I messed up an expensive lens
But, the baby beardie was OK! I lost a lot of mealworms, which opened up in my pack. fun. But glad this cute guy is fine.
Depressed about my camera and lens, though!
So, names. The female that I thought was a male for two years is aptly named Crikey. The male citrus is Edward Lizardhands (Or, Eddie Lizard). I have no idea what to name this orange/green boy!
