New Baby Girl!

I went to the reptile expo this weekend in San Diego, where I live. I wanted to trade my male beardie I got last year there, that I just was having trouble bonding with. He had personality issues, gaping and hissing at me from the beginning. When he got more mature, he mellowed, but mostly when out of his tank. Inside, he would pull away from me a lot. Just not typical beardie personality. Very colorful, though, purple and light orange hypo.

I wanted to trade him for an adult, but ended up with a teeny baby from Greathouse Farms. I liked how they have bloodlines and pedigrees, and even little carrying cases for the baby. They are socialized, giving natural sunlight, organic greens.....and it shows. This little girl I got is SO sweet! Her parents are bright orange and red, so hope she has some nice color, too. But I couldn't be happier with her personality. So little, but unafraid of my fingers, hops on my hand... even snuggled on me when going to sleep first night.

Now, just gotta find a name that suits her! Thinking "Pixel" cuz I'm a photographer..

Thanks! I love how she's looking sideways at me like she caught me taking her pic. I did find out she's a bit grumpy in the morning when waking her up, though! LOL. She gaped at me, but then was ok. :D

Me, too. Though what is it with me I wonder... suddenly she's gaping and hissing at me ! Dang. Maybe it's cuz she's about to shed, she's been eye bulging a lot. Not eating much at all. Won't eat any greens, nor the repti-worms I was given. Goes to eat those, then seems to go "yuck" and take off. I think I might have a diva on my hands lol.

Ah shes just adjusting to her new surroundings. Id keep the interaction at a low and maybe offer some other feeders. She should be fine :)

have you tried feeding her crickets? i just got my beardie a few days ago. i was having a little bit of a problem with him not wanting to eat. until today when he surprised me and ate 8 in one feeding. chances are she could just be getting used to her new surroundings. i suggest holding her at least once a day to get her used to being held. thats what i do at least. well goodluck :)

How adorable!!! Such a cutie! I love the name Pixel. Beth is absolutely fantastic, you will not be disappointed with her dragons. I got my male dragon, Aiden from her last November and he's still healthy as can be and happy as ever. Loves to be my snuggle baby. :) I still ask Beth questions to this day and she's always been very helpful. Which is awesome. :)

Awe! Look at Pixel! So fitting. Since I hold my babies so much I wouldn't worry but they do not like to be handled when they are working on a shed. It's a bit like having a sunburn I imagine, very uncomfortable. And she was definitely due for a shed. She should eat just about any bug since the babies get a bit of everything but the reptiworms may have gone bad. Maybe you can get your hands on some baby dubia roaches. They love those! Email me and I can send you some if anything. But she should settle in a few days.

LOL Hi there! Well, I'm debating on whether to make the name "Diva", though LOL. It must be the shed for sure. She's fine once she's just sitting on my finger, just doesn't like me sticking it in her face lol. I actually just found a guy on Craigslist selling dubia roaches, and asked if I wanted to start a colony. Not so sure about that, but I'll definitely buy some from him. She is weird with the worms, not interested, yet she ate a roasted dead one earlier. Go figure. She seems to want crickets, but isn't into chasing them down. So if they come across her path, she'll get one. Hasn't eaten a shred of greens, or squash, though. So we'll see how the roaches go.

Oh, and Eddie is so cute in his new harness. Though he's having trouble getting used to it. He did NOT like being tied down while I was doing yard work, and he scoots around, rubbing his body like he's trying to get it off of him, then hitting the end of it and pulling really hard, getting all huffy puffy. (Maybe he's the Diva.... LOL).

She's beautiful! I am surprised at how freindly these reptiles are. I will posts pics of mine when I get home.

And yes Pixel seems like a great name for her!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
