New Baby eating confusion

Hi there, I am new to the forum and to having a bearded dragon. I got my new baby, born Aug 29th, from the Repticon show this past weekend, Saturday. When I got him/her (not sure yet) so the temp name is Mr. Dudette, I was told to feed 10 super worms a day and the veggies. I gave 10 worms on Sunday and my baby went after them quickly and was interested. Then it pooped one of the worms in pieces. I spoke to the store owner and we discussed giving small Dubai's and less worms, as based on my reading and research, the worms are just not enough protein and are of a higher fat. That being said, since Sunday, my little one has absolutely no interest what so ever in any of the bugs. Mr. Dudette has eaten some of the greens yesterday and today, but I am so worried. I think I am more stressed than Mr. Dudette is, although I am sure some of it is stress of a new home and trying to get the temperatures correct. I had the basking side at about 90-95 but based on reading that was not enough, I believe I have it at 105 ish now and 80 on the cool side.

Any one who has any thoughts, advise, or knowledge of what to expect these first few days of become a dragon's Mother, it would be much appreciated.

Sounds like Mr, Dudette is in really good hands with you. You are exactly right and have done your research well, superworms are not the best staple for a young growing beardie due to the higher fat content. Just like fatty foods for us humans (think of McDonalds cheese burgers lol) they tend to taste better then other healthier insects. Many dragons become addicted to them and will refuse other insects. It may take a few days for him to cave in but if you stay strong and do not offer the superworms and only the roaches he will eventually eat them. They can be stubborn little guys/girls that are known for their drawn out protests in order to get their way lol, but they will not starve themselves and will eat what you are offering once they are hungry enough.

When I feed superworms I notice a few undigested pieces from time to time as well. This is mainly because they have a hard outter shell that's not easily digested. However I think the biggest reason for this in your particular case is your basking temps. They use heat to help them digest, now that you have a basking temp of 105 you should see improvement with this. Just encourage him to bask for approximately 2 hours after each meal.

Aside from this just be patient and allow him more time to settle in. Most dragons experience relocation stress when they are moved to a new place. It takes time for them to settle in and get use to things. You can help him by talking to him, petting him, giving him space to explore his new enclosure throughout the day, and hand feeding him once your comfortable enough. He will eventually grow accustom to you and his new home :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
