So I worry a lot, I got my baby yesterday, he ate two locusts on the night I got him and wouldn’t eat anymore, today he’s only ate one locusts and he won’t eat anymore, is it just because he’s getting settled as I don’t want him to starve and know baby dragons should eat way more than that, helppp

It is normal for them to go thru relocation stress -- it is normal for them to eat less but to not quit eating all together is not normal --- what kind of set up do you have --- basking temps and how your taking them and what kind of UVB are you using brand and bulb please?

He has a 4x2x2 vivarium (bigger than the one I brought him from), his basking spot is 45 degrees celcius (113 Fahrenheit) which is measured with an exo terra digital thermometer. His uvb is exo Terra 10.0. He is always basking and always seems to go under his uvb bulb and seems to be settling in he’s just not eating well.

113 is too hot --- please get it down to 105-113--- either lower the basking decor so hes not so close or check the wattage on the bulb ---- what is the 10.0 UVB? Is it a coil or a tube? And where in the tank is it? Top of screen or inside the tank ?

Give him a week or two - it does take some time for them to settle in. As long as he's eating something, basking and active, and pooping, he should be fine. :0)

Hi there,

I agree, sometimes it takes them awhile to settle in and get their appetites.

One of my guys hardly ate at all for 3 weeks until he finally built up his appetite and then he was like a machine!

Keep us updated on how he's doing.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
