I recently got my baby beardie about 5 days ago and he/she (rocky) will eat a few small freeze dried cricket heads ( I rip them apart) and his tail is a lighter orange then the rest of his body but idk why he isn’t eating as much as he should and it’s starting to worry me. I have checked everything including lights heat uvb tank size reflections his basking area is at about 99 to 110 I and she’s not dehydrated he drinks water every that I drip on his nose or that he licks from the veggie bowl I leave in there. I have been told he could still have re location stress but I’m still worried because he seems to have no interests in food. He has loads of energy and will run around his tank and climb and he has pooped everyday that I have had him. I will leave cricket parts throughout the tank in areas he enjoys being at I leave a large quantity total. But he has pooped a total of four times since I had him and idk what’s going on please help. Have you tried offering live bugs? Not only are they way healthier than freeze dried ones but the motion should get him interested. And just to double check can you tell us the type, brand and strength of your uvb bulb and where it's located, above or inside the tank and how far from the basking spot? A pic of it would also be helpful.

I have a the zoo Med reprising 10.0 it’s on a mesh top and he has ver close access to it. I have tried live feeding and he will deem interested then will just run away. He is 10 inches away from the bulbs and has loads of energy and pooped again today.

I'm guessing it's a coil bulb in the dual fixture, do you know if it's the 13w or 26w? The 13w is too weak for dragons, I believe the 26w can be used but I think it has to be without a screen. Screens block about 30% of the uvb. Most people on this forum reccomend the tube version of that bulb (Reptisun 10.0) or an Acadia 12% in either the t5 or t8. T5s are stronger and last about a year before being replaced and can go up top of a screen while the t8 is weaker, has to be replaced every 6 months and has to go under the screen.

Uvb is very important and if a dragon doesn't get enough it can actually make them not eat and eventually can lead to health issues like metabolic bone disease. If it's warm where you are you can being him outside and get some real sun, it's way better than any bulb. Just make sure he is secure so he can't run away but don't use a glass aquarium, they get too hot.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
