New Baby Beardie : One Eye Closed!

I noticed today (our 2nd day in the new home) that he was closing one of his eyes. I am guessing that it is because of the Coil UVB? Can anyone confirm this, btw I am already in the progress of getting a tube light.

Also can someone tell me how much he will be eating in a day so im not thinking that he isn't eating enough.

This is a picture showing his size, but he even looks smaller than this in person.

How much are you feeding him atm and how long have you had him?

Today was the 2nd day I have had him and it seems like he/she is starting to warm up, and he really isn't eating much he ate 3-4 small meal worms today.

Also is the light really that bad?

Yeah the light is bad.

Usually a beardies appetite won't pick up until the end of the first week. Due to relocation stress.
Mealworms aren't the best thing to be feeding a dragon.

As said previously the Repitun 10.0 tube UVB is the best UVB in north america for beardies. I had a coil and my baby was very lethargic. Changed to the Rptisun and the change was amazing!!


EDIT: Also my little one is about that size, just went through a shed and is now eating 20-30 crickets a day. Spread out into 3 seperate meals

Yes that is the bulb you need.
The fixture should be fine, but you might be able to get one cheaper.

Idk about in Canada, but in the US you can find strip fixtures at home improvment stores for like, 10$. You just need to make sure the fixture you get is sized for T8.

also the one eye thing can be normal mines did it when i had a coil bulb and does it time to time even tho i switched to a repti sun 10.0 tube

Do your beardie have alot of stress marks on his belly/chin and is the orange in yours getting brighter after the shed. I just got mine yesterday.

also where did you get yours? I got mine at petsmart.

Too me it seems like they get super dark when he is ready for sleep. And first when I took him out of the container they gave me him in they were very dark.

As of late I noticed after 8pm mines get dark

Maybe it's a night thing

I can tell you this much as soon as the lights go off he gets very light in color

He moods are very different every hour, sometimes he is just chilling, sometimes he is just hiding and the day I got him he was going wild climbing.

Also mine is asleep by 7:15 but I might try to slowly make it later in a week or two.
