Hi everyone. I got my little guy, Toby, on black Friday from Petsmart and I'm not sure he's all that healthy. In the store he seemed very active and alert; I even went back more than once to see him be fed and make sure he seemed okay. When I brought him home I set him up in a 40 gallon tank with a Reptisun 10.0 and his basking light along with a cave and grapevine. Temp wasn't high enough for basking, never went above 92° F, so I got him a 150 watt bulb that seems to be doing the job. I've checked several times and the temp is usually between 102 and 109°. I also put in a divider to shrink his tank in order to make it a little less stressful for him. He didn't eat much the first few days but now he's having about 10-14 crickets twice a day. He's got a ton of stress marks that don't seem to be going away and he doesn't move from the grapevine. I have to take it out in order to feed him or he won't eat. I've also noticed that he's lost weight and he just doesn't look as healthy as he did when I got him. His eyes are kind of sunken in. The only time he's looked okay was when I fed him this morning and last night. Otherwise he looks rather miserable. I'm afraid he may be sick but maybe its just stress. Does anyone have any advice or could tell me how long it could take for Toby to get used to his new home?

Eyes sunken in can be a sign of dehydration, as well as lack of energy. Have you ever bathed him? You can also drop a little bit of water on their snout so they can lick it off.

Hi. How are you taking the temps? What kind of uvb? Coil or tube? Definitely give him baths or drop water on his nose.

I've been bathing him every night for about 10 to 15 minutes because he is shedding and has been for a few days now. I'm using a digital thermometer to take the temp. I've been using a mini compact reptisun 10.0 uvb by zoomed which I believe is coil.

You need to turn off that uvb and replace it with a reptisun 10.0 Tube. The uvb you currently are using has been known to cause eye problems, appetite and lethargy problems. Once you get the correct bulb hopefully his health will improve.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
