Never leaves hide, not eating

Hello everyone

I have my beardie almost two weeks now and starting to get a little bit worried. He is always in his little cave hide, I put crickets in but he is not eating them, doesn't seem to want any veg either. I'm worried he won't get enough UV or Calcium. For the last 5days now I have taken away his for a little bit and use this time to stroke his chin and back. Cant tell if he likes it but he doesn't run away. Also have started giving him water of my finger. The main concern I have is he is not eating crickets I give him. Thought the ones I got him might be to big so got smaller, I don't think size is the issue.

I'm beginning to think that noise from outside is bothering him? It's not excessively loud but he does seem to respond, I'm moving him to another room now anyway. Also I have just noticed, in the last 5mins, a pretty big piece of skin, about an inch long from start of tail section (it's tube shaped). Would him shedding be a possible reason for him always being in hide and not eating?? Thanks for the help, so glad I found this site.

What color is the color that is failing off?????? Is it shed or is it his tail?????

I'm guessing it's shedding, it's flaky like skin. His tail looks fine. I've attached a photo.
