Need to take our BD to a hotel this weekend

As the title suggest we just found out that we need to go out of town for a night this upcoming weekend, so we need to figure a way to take our BD with us to the hotel.

He has 2 homes now (one at our house and one for the trailer) but both are way to big to travel and "sneak" into a hotel room. Any ideas on what to use that can be snuck into a hotel room?

I was thinking a big Rubbermaid with the metal grill top from his home tank with the basking light on it. But we are concerned about the plastic melting or causing the the plastic to smell.

We need to leave him in the hotel room for at least 4 hours while at an event we can't take him to. This really worry me to leave him in a hotel room by himself. We will put a Do Not Disturb sign up, but I still worry.

If we leave him at home we would feed him in the am and could drive home very late that evening. He was born in Jan so he still eats 2 times a day. And we don't really want to do that. We will be driving 3 hours to get there and to drive all that way, stay 4 hours, then drive 3 more hours back home seems very unsafe and exhausting.

Any ideas to safely allow him to stay overnight with us in a hotel?

I've had my guys in hotels before but they are hotels that allow pets and it was encouraged. I don't advise sneaking him into a hotel though. At his age though, he should be totally fine overnight on his own so I'd just leave him home. Give him a nice big meal before you leave and put a salad in there for him while you're gone. He should be fine overnight and will be happy to see you when you get home.

I have Ragnar's lights on a timer. As long as he has enough food for us being gone, he is good to go staying at home.

Gonna echo these guys/gals here. I take overnight trips to Austin about once a month. I feed Harley a big meal in the morning and since the lights are on a timer she's good to go. She's growing like a weed and super healthy. You're dragon should be fine.

We found a hotel that takes pets close to where we need to go. Turns out we will need to be there 2 days now. I think we have everything covered for the trip now. Wish us luck that everything goes smoothly. I'm glad we started taking him out on a leash so he feels comfortable out in public with us.

Our trip went great. I'll have to find the link to how to post some photos.

It was a pretty fun trip.

I put Kirby in my purse ( dumped out everything but my wallet, keys and phone) on our way home to go into 1 shoe outlet store for a new pair of runners that I needed. Scored a new pair of Nike for $35 and Kirby made friends with the store staff.

At one rest stop my husband and son went to the washroom and Kirby and I stayed outside enjoying the beautiful weather. Everyone who walked by stopped to check him out and all the little kids wanted to pet him.

His temp house worked great. I only took a basking light for heat. I left the other light at home.
