Long story short, I bought two beardies in December being told I could house them together only to find through the excellent advice on here that that is not so. I saw the typical signs of dominance in one of the beardies as he grew and grew while the other stayed smaller and more timid. I decided since I really favored the larger beardie from the beginning and tended to spend more time with him, that I would rehome the smaller beardie. She went to a wonderful home on 2-12. My concern is that since I seperated the two of them and also moved my larger beardie into a permanent 4 x 2 x 2 enclosure the same day and now Samson, whom I adore, is not eating as many crickets and while he is growing, he is not growing as quickly as he was. He is currently 15" at 5 months. I know he is not missing the other beardie, but is it the competition being gone that has caused him to slow down? Don't get me wrong, he is fat and eats a couple of dozen crickets a day. Is he getting older so his growth rate is slowing down?
I just want to make sure that what he is going through is normal. He is active, poos daily, has the correct setup of lighting and greens, calcium. Sorry for the long ramble!
