Hello,
I am new to to owning a Beardie,I just got one today, from the local pet store.He/She is a baby and is about 6'" total length, has some beatiful colors.I just forgot what kind of Beardie they said it was.but anyway,it looks healthy, and is very active. But my only concern is that it seems to have cage agression.everytime I go near it,it flares its jaws, and jumps/lashes out at me. So we maned he/she Fang I am not sure how long ago the pet store got Fang. But is this a normal behavior,Should I avoid any contact for a few days or so so he/she gets use to its new home. And then after that handle Fang daily this way he/she gets use to to human conatct and does not percive me as a threat.I am not the type of pet owner that just gets a pet and let it sit there.last thing i need is an agressive 24" lizard.I also did alot of research. And Fang is in a tempoary home which is a 20 gallon tank, basking area around 115,humidity holding around 50% and ambient temp of 85-90,and has a 5.0 UVB bulb. Also using newspaper as substrate.
]Thanks,
Peter
