So I posted a few threads about the new enclosure I was in the process of getting for Draiga. I got it and finally lined the bottom with the slate tile I was trying to get. I went ahead and put her old things in the new enclosure until I get the new things I wanted to. I moved her into the new enclosure a few hours ago and she seemed like she was just chilling. I decided that I'd take her out for a little cuddle time like I normally do except this time she bearded at me when I went to grab her.. I just recently got a new dog that was sitting on the bed when I was trying to bring her out - she's seen him everyday and never bearded before - I moved the dog out of the room and put on hand sanitizer to make the smell go away. I then gently grabbed her again and she seemed okay, I brought her to my chest to cuddle as I always do, then she bearded at me again!

What I'd like to figure out is what is causing this behavior since she's only ever bearded once when she jumped off my shoulder then when she's shedding or "stretching" in the morning. Is it relocation stress? The fact that the enclosure went from 29 gal to 4 foot by 20 inches by 20 inches? Does she just not like the new enclosure..

Someone please tell me that I didn't just waste half a grand on something that angers her! I try so hard to be a good beardie slave.

Haha, beardies never have personal aggressions, especially towards a new tank, she might have just been stressed or got a shock or whatever, the time to worry is when they try to bite you or have an illness.... try being 17, spending £800 on a full new setup, for everything to go wrong, lose your job and beardie to fall ill where you cant afford the vets... anyways, trust me, she will be fine, let her ease into her new tank for a few days and then try again, if she still is agressive tey slowly petting her in her tank to regain trust

I went ahead and just pulled little miss attitude out of the enclosure despite the beard and put her on my chest. I covered her with a blanket and told her in a firm voice to knock it off lol whether she understood or not, she listened. I went ahead and tucked her into her homemade bed after a little bit and noticed that her tail is in shed a long with the fact that her favorite hammock won't stick to the melamine so it isn't in there yet.

So I'm pretty sure she's just being a brat now and throwing a tantrum.

Okay so she is still throwing a hissy fit. Puffing her beard and she even swallowed some air this morning to puff her whole body out in an attempt to persuade me to not pick her up.. She's clearly upset and I'd like some help figuring out the problem - this isn't really normal for her, from what I've seen.

The temp is about 100 degrees on the basking spot and about 90 on the opposite end. The objects that I put in her new enclosure were her own from the old one. The only thing that didn't get moved to her new enclosure is her hammock.

Any ideas?

Is the tank accessible from the top? They could get scared feom objects coming from above. If not I have absolutely no idea, ive never experienced that before

Her last enclosure was top opening and she never had any problems - this one has front opening sliding doors since I wanted to make her as comfortable as possible.. :?

Hmm, I cant think why she would have gone like that. You could try taking her to the vets of it keeps up because she could have fell from something in her tank and gotten a bit of damage in her head or something?

I'm a home bound cancer patient so I'm always home and her viv is by my bed, she's always under supervision. She hasn't had any fall or accident and the behavior has started only since I moved her into the new viv.

It's really quite puzzling.

Oh, that must be tough, stay strong! But yeah just see how she goes and if it keeos up you could take her to the vets and see what they say

I'm trying to just keep on keeping on. Lol

I went out and bought some wax worms for her since even though they aren't a great staple, they are a great treat. I made her just wait patiently for me to hand feed them to her and petted her on the head after every one. She didn't beard when presented with the worms so I guess I'll just try to curb her attitude with good food! :p

I don't really have that much cash to spend on a vet when I know for a fact there isn't anything health related. She was 100% healthy the day I got her a few weeks ago and I've been feeding her nothing but the best. Calcium + multi vitamin supplement ratio is perfect, heating is perfect, eating habits haven't changed, no change in bathroom habits, no change in energy, clear eyes, breathing is fine, no actual aggression.. Just an attitude problem, and since it started right after I moved her into a new viv, it's gotta be re location stress. If she were to show signs of being sick, that would be a different story, I think she's just being a spoiled brat.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
