Well, I know this is for beardie rescuing but here goes...So, my younger brother goes to a camp for children with mental disabilities and they have a petting zoo there for these kids to play with. In the petting zoo is a Chinese Water Dragon. Her viv is filthy, she is barely fed (sometimes even being fed the bait earthworms they use for fishing), shes egg laying (unknownst to the people there; my brother found one in her cage when he was on zoo duty, and it was shriveled up so it has been there a while) and shes rubbing her face on her screen, making her mouth bloody. She has no scales on her mouth and it looks worse everyday. I really would like to take this baby girl into my care but I don't know how to coax the guy to give me her. He just doesn't seem to care. He also had 4 baby beardies(one after the other) that all died in the same month. It's really sad. So please please please help me get a plan together. This dragon is the sweetest thing and I don't want to see her die too. Thanks so much

You could ask the owner if they have been wanting to find a home for the chinese water dragon. If they're not trying to sell it and they're only keeping it for the kids, I would suggest finding a reptilian vet and/or breeder around you because most people respect their opinions on reptile care (because they know more). Tell the vet or breeder about the situation and ask them to take a look at it and voice their concerns to the owner.

Lastly, You can call animal control or the police. The only problem with these options, however, is that they may not know what a neglected reptile looks like. Because of this, you should really have a vet (or breeder) look at the water dragon first so they can also talk to the police about the problems with the care given to the reptile. Police officers will/should listen to a veterinarian.

Good luck. I hope that poor baby is ok ): Chinese water dragons have cute faces, I kind of wanted one when I was younger only because of it's cuteness and the fact that it eats fish... Not great reasons lol.

My brother told me that a counselor there is going to ask the guy if we can have it. And they just got another beardie. :( I'm going to go there tomorrow to see if they'll listen to me on care, I hear they have the baby on sand and he's only 6 inches long. ._. Let's hope for this one.

Awww ): Poor babies. Hopefully the people who are in charge of reptiles don't get all defensive when you tell them about the proper care. Good luck, and let us know what happens!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
