Not sure if our little girl Aurora is gonna make it. We got her on November 5th, so we haven't had her that long. When we got her, we checked everything, eyes, vent, and she looked healthy. She hs been active as in chasing her reflection and all. But we had to move her into our bedroom, because her and our male was stressing each other out.
We had been giving her the same diet as our male but less because she hasn't had a big appetite. We would give her 20 reptiworms for her morning and afternoon feedings. For the last feeding of the day, we would try to give her crix. The breeder we got her from said she loved crix, but she didn't seem interested when we give them to her. Today she was doing ok, but this morning she had a runny poo

She had her first feeding this morning and a little after that then she pood (the pic above) At 3:45 I went into give her her after noon feeding and she was playing with her reflection.

Now she is laying in her basking spot with her eyes closed hardly moving.

Someone on here told us that we shouldn't be feeding worms all the time. I thought that was the supers, which we don't do because our beardies aren't even the proper size for them. Aurora, the one we are worried about is 12-13inches. We give both of our beardies the medium reptiworms. I always read on here that those were good to give.

Here's the answers to the questions that I know would be asked.

Name:Aurora
Age 4months
Size: 12-13inches
Tank: 40gal breeder
substrate: non adhesive shelf liner
Uvb: reptisun 10.0
100w heat bulb
digital thermometers on hot and cool sides which also measure humidity.

Since we have had her, she does not go to her dish on her own, not that she is too weak too, but she just stares, but when we bring it over to her, she will eat everything all up.

I can't figure out what we have done wrong, because we are doing the same thing for Aurora as we have been doing for Yoshi, and he is doing good.

Please can someone help me, I don't want to loose our little girl.

Hi, from your post I have a couple of questions:

What type of thermometers are you using. She may be sluggish because the temps are off. If they are too low she will not move around much.

Do you give her regular baths? Her poo could be runny from excess water from bathing...not a bad thing.

I'm not a dr but my beardie's poo is runny sometimes with a lot of liquid.

I hope this helps but you should keepo an eye on her

HI and thank you for your response. :)

We bathed her on Tuesday which was the first time since we had her.

We have digital thermometers in her viv.

The house/basking site we had for her, we found out that it must be made of some kind of plastic or something, because when we put the probe on, it said the temp was around 135F, so what we've had to do was turn the heat lamp up half way instead of the full way. We got it from the reptile expo.

We took that house/basking site out, and my husband will be picking her up a rock cave thing like what our other dragon Yoshi has, when he gets done with work.

In the mean time, what my husband did is put the heat bulb beside the tree, but not right over it. She seems to be wanting by it. So we are thinking that must be the problem that she just needs to be warmed up.

My beardie has always had runny poop like above. She poops once a day or every other day. We rinse her greens and feed them to her without drying them so she is getting a lot of water. We took her poop into the vet and he said all was fine so I am not sure that is a concern?

Yep to me that looks like a healthy well hydrated poo and sounds like a lazy beardie. My beardie never chases his food, he just waits for it to come to him on a silver platter.

Some plastics and most partical boards will off gass when heated above 100 deg.
Also so will pine and ceder woods.
This will make you sick as well as your beardie.

Hi, I've got 5 adult dragons & have had most of them for a few years. Rubio, my youngest, he's 3 yrs old, has runny poop all the time, the poops are well formed & the urate is soft but lots of liquid. He drinks alot & is well hydrated, even though he doesn't really take baths, just sits in one while I feed him water from an oral syringe. So I've never worried about extra water with poops, but hard urantes (the white stuff) is something to watch out for. If you've just gotten your beardie, there's relocation stress that can affect their appetites. As long as the poops aren't smelly, then you don't have to be concerned about parasites. When Rubio was a baby, he was also very hydrated, as he loves to drink water & will drink alot. The other 4 aren't as keen but will drink, most of them poop in the bath, only Rubio poops in his tank (on newspaper). Your new beardie also has the fall slow down happening, too, as it's brumation (like hibernation) time. So lazy dragons are the norm at this time of year.

Welcome and I hope all the info you've been given helps alot. Having temps too high will cause a dragon to hide on the cool side, so you might want to put a lower wattage bulb in as your basking bulb. I've always found 75W bright household bulb sufficient for a basking light, as they like to get close to the light, but about 8" is more than enough. Hope all this helps. Your UVB light is a good one.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
