I recently got my 8 month year old bearded dragon wormed and he is currently on probation paste to clear out any parasites however these last couple of days he hasn't moved much and would only be active when food is presented. Currently it is cold here in Ireland as it is winter so maybe it could be the early stages of brumation.

Setup: 4ftx2ftx2ft, 10.0 UVB TUBE , Repti sun 100 W (36-40) Degrees Celsius , Lino substrate.

Diet: 40-50 insects a day which include crickets and calci worms and Collard greens with some Celery. Apples occasionally.
Bathed once every 2 days and misted 3-4 times a day

It sounds like your taking great care of this guy and the fact that he is eating so much makes me believe he's most likely not feeling sick due to any medication. Some medications can cause a little drowsiness in them and yes it is also that time of year where many begin to slow down for the season. Some do not go into "full blown brumation" and just simply slow down a little. Is he hiding in shady areas or sleeping more than usual? This could indicate a partial brumation or the beginning of full brumation. If so it's wonderful that you had him treated before hand.

If he's still eating this much and using the bathroom regularly I wouldn't worry too much. Just keep him well hyderated like you have been and all should be fine. Either he will be more like himself after treatment is finished or once spring approaches if it's brumation related.

Thanks for the reply! regards to his stool the medicine being used is too help it as he has had some bad diarrhea these last couple of weeks and since the medicine he hasn't pooed as regularly where as he would normally go every 2-3 days hes on his 4th day now and still hasn't however ive been giving him more bathes to help and he seems a bit more lively today so hopefully he will go to the bathroom, and yes he would normally not bask as much now and go to sleep about 1 hour or half an hour earlier.

He's way too young to be allowed to brumate , esp if he's ill.

Try 0.2ml of olive oil given orally by syringe , this usually lubricates the plumbing and gets things moving inside a day or 2.

Cut back a lot on both the bathing and the misting .. risking causing a respiratory infection

how long are his lights on each day ?

is his uvb tube a T5 or T8 ?

Up the wattage on the basking globe to 120W - 130W , to make his tank a bit warmer.

Are you providing nighttime heating of any kind ? esp if it gets cold inside your home (where he is) overnight.

He seems a bit better today after the medicine and his stool is starting to look better again :) and i use a t5 i think but im not sure. The lights are kept on 10-12 hours a day and at night i use a warm blanket around him as the room temperature is already warm enough

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
