Need help asap! New beardie climbing onto UVB???

Hello everyone,
it has been 2 days since we got Cho. He is in a 50g glass viv with a CHE and a tube UVB light. Since today he has been climbing his log and sticking his face into the UVB, scratching at it before falling off the log. I really need help! Should I remove the log and just place rocks in it's place so he's further away from it? any help would be great.

also- he's 2 yrs old, the tank we have him in now is twice the size he was in before, previous owners only fed him spinach/peas/mealworms. He has also been digging a bit so I put in a blankie and he has stopped. I plan on feeding him crix and dandelion greens as a staple since you can't get super worms or dubia roaches here in NZ. :? this is my first beardie, I just wish he would calm down. Is he just stressed because of relocation?

Hi there...I've always had 1-2 dragons that want to have a fight with the lights. What type of bulb are you using so that it's so close ? You can either put the bulb further away or move his log back some. And yes, it's normal for them to be restless/stressed in a new home. The new diet would be fine, but you can keep some of his old diet in there a couple times a month at least. Do you have greens, like collard, turnip, mustard in N. Zealand ? Oh, and if your weather is good he can be taken out for real sun. Invest in an outdoor cage, or build one if you can. By the way, some owners are never 100% sure on the dragon's sex. To be sure, Google" ' sexing bearded dragon with flashlight". Then you'll know, just in case it's a female.

He's fine now, i think it was because i took him out for 5 mins and then put him back, but I was cleaning so he probably wanted back out again :roll: He ate crickets today!!! So happy because he had no interest at all before, he wouldn't even eat the salad I put his bowl in a different place where he usually likes to sit and he ate all of the dandelion greens/2 blueberries I added I got home and fed 4 mealies, tried a cricket but he wouldn't eat it. Showed him a mealworm he ate it straight away So i crushed (only a little) the cricket (it was half dead feel sorry for it now) and put it next to him and he ate it!!! :mrgreen: woohoo
