I have two beardies, both of which we were TOLD were male....they were housed together briefly, but have been separate for over 3 months.

Apparently, I have a female, as she's just laid eggs. 14 so far...and they are white and plump! (she laid one yellow shrively thing, too) I have no incubator or anything, and I need help ASAP! :D

Wow.

OK...well....did some reading and managed to rig an incubator, but now I have a more pressing concern that I hope someone is willing to help me with.

Since I was not expecting anything of this sort, my female was not in any way prepared for egg laying...that is to say, she did not get a resting period, nor did she get any additional nutrients during her pregnancy. What chance do the eggs have of hatching into healthy babies?? Aside from that, she and the father are brothers, er, I mean, brother and sister...what effect will this have? I know inbreeding is fairly common, however, I don't even know if these two were the product of inbreeding themselves, or how long that line might be.....

I really, REALLY need some help...please? :D

I'm sorry, I wish I could help you but I have no experience with breeding. Perhaps you could PM one of the moderators or breeders on the site to help answer your questions.

Best of luck.

in my honest opinion from everything in this post you have put out you should freeze the eggs.
1 the parents are siblings (and yes it is a common practice but so is inbreeding dogs and we see all the medical problems that causes)
2 you are not prepared for it because you were not wanting to breed so there may be issues in taking proper care of the hatchlings (not calling you into question just stating that raising hatchlings is hard on you and your pocket expect to got through thousands of pinhead crix a week not to mention lighting and tanks where you can not have more than 5 beardies per tank as hatchlings)

now on to your female

you will want to get some liquid calcium as it is absorbed much better and more rapidly. You will also want to setup a laybox for her as she more than likely has more eggs in her not to mention she will more than likely lay another clutch (which you should also freeze) i will attach info for setting up a lay box at the end of this post.
she needs a high protein slightly fatty insect with good amounts of calcium and a strong multi. laying takes tons of nutrients from them. i will also post names for the stuff i use and the link for where it can be found.

laybox info
things needed
20-30 gallon rubbermaid container
a bag of all natural topsoil (you can find these at lowes and home depot and possibly walmart must be all natural no additives)
a 40-50 watt spot light bulb with a clamp fixture for heat while she is in there.

instructions
moisten the top soil to until is very damp but not wet (if you squeeze a handful only a drop or two should come out)
create a 45 degree hole in one corner of the container (this starts the hole for her)
cut a hole in a quarter of the lid so that the light from your spotlight can warm her.

if you see her digging in her tank or acting frantic put her in the laybox. she can take many hours to finish laying.

i hope this info helped.

freezing them will stop formation of the fetus. then you toss them. it is probably the most humane thing to do in the situation in my opinion.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
