I have about 10 eggs in the incubator and one of them has started hatching and I can see another egg wiggling!!! I'm really worried and excited all at once! It's only got his head through right now and I know it takes a day or two for them to completely emerge! So I have a few questions! One, should I still have the lid on the container that the eggs are in while they are hatching which I want to know ASAP. I'm all worried about whether its getting enough air and stuff. Also where should the humidity stay at, at this point? Another how long should the beardie stay in the incubator after completely hatching? For now until I get some answers I'm just gonna leave everything as is, I try and keep the humidity between 60-75 so I hope that's ok!

Yes, you remove the lids from the container that the eggs are in. Humidity should be between 70-80%. They should stay in there for up to 24 hours, to absorb the yolk sack...

Awesome thanks! One is already out of his egg and running around! Now I have another question, I have their tank prepared already I'm just not sure about one thing tho. I have UVB light and another dome light that I just placed a normal house bulb into. The temp is only at 80 though and I've been reading that babies need to have about 100-115 atleast. So do I need to get a heat bulb? And if so what watt would be best?!

What type of UVB is it? Brand and type of bulb?

What do you mean "normal" household bulb? Is it an round incandescent or a coil bulb? If it's a coil then it won't ever get hot enough. You'd need to get a round incandescent bulb. The round incandescent bulb IS the heat bulb, not just for light.

I got the Exo Terra 10.0 repti-glo, and it IS a coil bulb so I guess I gotta change that. So does that mean I can just get a round bulb that you would just put in a lamp or a heat bulb that gives off that red light. I have two full adults and they have one of those and its a 75 watt but I didn't think that same bulb would be ok for babies but if it is then I'll defintely run and get one. They also have a another lamp that has a big round ceiling kind of light bulb so should i get that same kind of bulb? Obviously you can tell this is my first time doing this and I don't know much about light bulbs lol

You need to get a Reptisun 10.0 Fluorescent tube bulb for UVB.

Yes you can just get a regular household incandescent bulb (not coil) to use for hear. You do not NEED or WANT a red bulb. They are no good for beardies. (I would suggest changing that for your adults asap too.)

I don't understand what you're trying to ask or explain here...Care to elaborate?

Oh ok I shall do that asap! And I was just explaining that on the cooling side of my adults tank they have what I think is a flood light bulb. I was given the whole set up so I thought it was fine to begin with but thanks for letting me know! Btw I think that the UVB light I got is ok its just a different brand I compared the the reptisun to the exo terra and they were exactly the same except the price!

They do not need heat on the cool side of the tank...

The UVB is not sufficient. It needs to be a Reptisun 10.0 Fluorescent Tube bulb, or an Arcadia 12% Tube bulb. Anything else is not correct and can wind up doing more harm than good.

Exo-Terra is NOT the same as a Reptisun...

If you compare the boxes of the Exo-Terra to the Reptisun, it appears that they are similar, but THEY ARE NOT! Reptisun is miles better than Exo-terra, and you need to have the 10.0 tube light, so you'll have to get another light fixture as well.

I have a suspicion that there is more than one thing wrong with your enclosures, so feel free to post everything that they gave you so that we can correct it. Also, please read the care sheets and articles linked at the top of this page.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
