Natural sunlight is not in Rango's wheelhouse

So, I took Rango outside today for the first time.. I've read about how so many people's dragons just loved going outside! Rango, however, did not. He gave me the flared beard/open mouth look several times. Wouldn't move until I tried to pick him up to bring him inside, at which point, he took off running under the car. That's not even the worst of it.. His harness tightened up on him due to his trying to run off. I got him inside, took off the harness, and placed him back under his lamp. He's deflated and back to his normal color now... So, question is, do I try this again or just accept that maybe it's not for all of them?

Poor Rango, it was not a fun experience for the first time. I'd keep it up, just walk outside very slowly +let him hang out on you. Sit out for a while every day or as often as you can, and after 2 weeks or so put him down slowly in the grass again. He should get used to it.

Ugh.. so speaking of sunlight, is it true that the Zilla T8 slimline UVB is NOT for bearded dragons, even though it clearly says so on the packaging? It's the one for desert reptiles... Bearded dragons is the first thing it lists. I have removed the plastic cover and mounted it on the inside of his viv, btw.. If it's not the ideal bulb, will it be ok until I can get a different bulb?

Yes it is for bearded dragons, just not as strong as the HO reptisun or Arcadia bulbs.

Ok, I've already found a different (better) bulb online that should fit the fixture I already have. I just can't get it like today, but wanted to be sure it would be ok for maybe a week or two. Thank you so much!
