that is what I am using for Emmetts basking platform and no problems at all with it in 3 days I have had it. I have a post in this forum showing emmetts tank pictures. So far I have had no problems with any of the natgeo pieces. His basking spot is always between 100 and 105. Pictures are in enclosure if you want to see how it all fits together. That particular platform seems to hold heat well but not to the melting point. Its like a composite resin much like the basking rock I had in his tank before.

Don't have a beardie yet, but I just bought the 36*18*18 in anticipation of getting one. I have assembled it the only thing I don't like about it is I would have preferred framed glass at the front. It seems it would help the integrity of the glass doors. Other than that it's really good he one cross section at the top is indeed metal.

If they had both models setup at pet smart I probably would have paid the extra $50 for the exo terra just for the issue with the front doors. Although the standard lock is nice.

I got her bridge/ramp at the petsmart near me. PetCo also carries them. I have one in each tank and they love their bridges as I call them. BTW a week later and Emmetts natgeo stuff is still holding up very well to the heat of his basking lamp. While he was out in the playpen, I upped his basking temp to 125 for 20 mins and still they held up well. Of course I lowered his temps before putting him back in.

Thanks for posting this info on the tank, it looks great--the 36*18*18 is front-opening, correct? With glass doors in front and a screen top?

yea its got doors in the front and a removable screen top, with little plugs on the rear sides so you can feed cords through

Correct the tank is 36*18*18 and I have gotten used to the doors kind of nice to have the built in lock. It comes with no backgrounds thought and a background is hard to find for it. If a beardy requires 3 sides enclosed I feel they should sell a kit for bearded's as optional that is easy to apply. Other wise it's pretty good.

Petsmart Friends and Family weekend is June 5-8. 15% off, including sale items. Does not include clearance though. So if anyone else if planning on adding Nat Geo stuff, IMO wait till then. I bought some of the decor items and they look nice and seem good quality. I bought a basking bulb a few weeks ago and it blew already, so I am not so sure about their quality. I plan to buy another and see how that works. The prices, even without the special weekend discount are fair. I like the idea the tanks are a bit bigger than what Petsmart normally offers. 50 gallon over the more common 40s.
