We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy
Deb and my six dragons :D      :( :love5:

I'm glad it isn't that fungus. Are you getting him probiotics, too? I know with people, and cats and dogs, probiotics are really needed when on any antibiotic meds. So dragons probably need it, too. Is that what the Acidophilus does?

Yep, I have acidophilus and he gets a full syringe full every day he doesn't get the shot. That's been helping a bit, as I really don't want him to lose any more weight.

Deb, just wanted to drop in and say Awww how cute. Leo is really adorable. Those eyes, the girls are going to love him :)
I wish Eric and Tara would hurry up and grow up. That seriously angers me that they are treating you like this.

And Titan needs to stop worrying you (and all of us too).

Hi Sabrina, I just saw your post & we posted at the same time. I'm hoping whatever is wrong with Titan's skin, the next batch of injections work for him. I was getting very freaked out when I saw how much it had spread, but my vet is very sure it's not Yellow Fungus and I'm so hoping it's not, but I still want a biopsy to be double sure, so will get that done next time, have no idea of the cost, but will make sure it happens. And I'll give you updates, too.

Hi Deb, sorry to hear that Titan is back on the injections for his skin condition. Poor Titan, he (and you) just cant's get a break. Hopefully all the med, antibiotic gel and Betadine will kick it out of his system once & for all.

Have you thought about giving a little Brewer's yeast to maybe help his appetite? Just a thought.

Leo is so precious, love his eyes and the adorable expressions on his face. Hope Tara & Eric grow up and start acting their ages instead of like little kids by trying to punish you. It's just so wrong. Geez, all you want to do is see & love your grandson. Sorry you're going through all of this.

Hi Diane
Titan is not amused to be on injections or that he has to be painted with Betadine. It's especially hard to paint his belly, as I have to get him to stay on his feet to do it  It's like a comedy routine, but we'll get through it. I give him acidophilus for his tummy every day but the day he gets his injections. I'll start force feeding him if necessary, he doesn't actually look as if he's lost weight. He does nibble on his salad, but spends most of his time under his basking light or beside it. We'll be ok, Diane, it's not the first time I've had to feed dragons. :D

As for Tara and Eric, I figure it's their loss, not mine. I have pictures of Leo so that helps, and I know I'll see him again soon. This nonsense with Tara is stopping now, I'm not putting up with it at all. I won't be changing for anyone any time soon. I did enough of that with Roger and never again. So they'll just have to accept me as I am, I don't have to talk to Tara if she doesn't want me to, I just want to hold Leo. They will learn that grandmas are a good thing.

I'll keep you updated on how Titan is doing. Joanne and I bought 1000 supers from Jake for $30, so I'm just counting out her 500 & taking them over to her. So I'll see you all later.

That must be funny trying to get him to stand up while you paint his belly. Do you try to get him to just stand on his back legs while you paint him? Good that it doesn't look like he's lost any wt and that he nibbles on his salad. I know you'll get him through it and he'll be fine, no doubts there at all.

Grandma's are a GREAT thing and Leo is very lucky to have you as his. Hopefully you'll get to see him again very soon. He is just too precious and has changed so much already.

Wow, counting out 500 supers, that sure sounds like a fun task.

I bet Titan is not amused in the least bit with all this med stuff! Leo is just adorable, his eyes are just gorgeous.

Thanks for the compliments on Leo, he is a beautiful baby, that's for darned sure. At least they did something right

Titan lost 50g so far Diane, but he was 580g to begin with so has the weight to lose, thank goodness. He's just miserable with all these meds and the antibiotic I give him by needle makes him feel sick. He was in bed asleep by 2p today, poor dear. It's quite the crazy scene getting that belly of his painted with the Betadine. The rest of the spots are no problem, but when I put him on his legs, he's always lifting one to try to climb up on me  Wish there was a way to take a video of it to show you, it's going to be done early in the morning on work mornings as it take so much time. I've run out of antibiotic gel, but I ordered some last week from Tracie, that should be in by the end of this week, then can start slathering that on. At least I covered everything today with the last of what I had. I'm thinking of getting a biopsy of one of the areas to make double sure it's not yellow fungus, but depends on the amount of $ it will cost. I might have to cash in some RRSP$ but can replace that with my bonus in December or my extra pay in January.

It's just never ending, at least I got worms cheap, 500 for $15 from Jake. And it didn't take me long to count out the worms Diane, as I handle them well, so scooped big handfuls and just tossed them into 3 containers I had that had air holes. None of them escaped, which was good and I didn't stay too long at Joanne's, just long enough to cut all her beardies nails (I did the ferrets last time I was there) and they were all very good, all 5 of them! Then I hightailed it home, as another rain/wind storm was on it's way in.

Hey Deb, just stopped in to say hello :) The newest pictures of Leo are so adorable!! He's getting so big. I love the picture where he has his hand on his cheek like saying "see my cute chubby cheeks!" :love5: Sorry Eric and Tara are back to treating you like crap again.. hope one day they see how important you are in their lives and especially in Leo's. Sorry to hear about Titan.. hope the injections help this time and it goes away for good.. poor guy. Lots of hugs to you!

I agree, I hope Titans problems go away for good this time. I agree with you, you should get a culture test done on it if you can afford it, if it was us, we wouldn't be able to afford it, even tho it's a really good idea.

I'm going to call the vet tomorrow am as she wanted to talk to me about him. I didn't see her when I picked him up on Friday. And yes, I'd like to get a culture but I'm sort of in the same boat as you Lori, not a lot extra. I do have some $ in an RRSP that I can replace in Dec/Jan, so might go that route, we'll see what the doc says.

Titan is such an unhappy camper right now, he doesn't like me much, painting that belly of his takes a lot of time as he struggles the whole time. But it has to be done, anything to get rid of this darned skin infection or whatever the heck it is. The injections start again tomorrow am, and since he's not eating anything right now, I'm going to try the babyfood, see if he'll eat that while his tummy is feeling so bad. I tried to feed him supers today, he wasn't very pleased, but may take roaches better. Won't try that until Wednesday, though, give him a day to get over the injection. He just feels so lousy, poor sweetie, he's sure been through the mill with this burn. I'm going to get some bee pollen next pay, see if that helps him. Maybe a b-complex would help him some, too. I'll talk to the vet about that.

Did you bring the worms to Joanne? I was wondering if any of your crew aside from the gecko's tried them. Thresh is really enjoying them, and I think she's even taking them out of her bowl when I'm not looking.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
