We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy
Deb and my six dragons :D      :( :love5:

Just smiles! They've been so good today, I was out a lot of the day, came home to very happy beardies. Titan has now officially eaten all the extra male dubia I had & I haven't heard back from the guy I was give who sells them out here. I'll have to contact Shannon to find out what that is all about. Guess he's back to younger dubia for now, I'm not feeding him off my adult females, they're too big for him...will have to find something else for him to eat, he won't eat crickets or supers right now, drag as I have a ton of both! I might try again tomorrow to see if he's hungry enough to eat crickets. I'll see

You'll be surprised what they will eat when they are desperate. I bought small supers for Zy since she is almost 16". She ate them so fast. I was  Jace only ate 5 of the large supers, but I'm just happy he ate.

I think your babies knew it was your day and their best behavior was their present. So sweet.

I don't have any smaller sizes left for Buffy so she has been getting small/med crickets and is not happy about it. I was pleased to see a few baby dubia in the bin this morning and she gobbled them right up. I am ready to get my hornworms in tomorrow!

Thanks Liz, and I'm glad to hear they're eating, I'll see what I can find for Titan in the am, but will try the crickets as I have a bin full. If he doesn't want any, oh well, back to the roaches. I also have supers I'll try those, too, he's 16" long now and his tummy is HUGE, but my scale is broken and can't afford another one right now, need to find one that measures in grams.

Lindz, I'm crossing my fingers you get your hornworm order tomorrow, they'll both go nuts over them, I'm sure. Hope you have a great Mom's Day!

Hi Deb :) Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Glad to hear:
-that all your boys were good for you on your day 8)
-that Titan is parasite free and around his eye is looking better .. Yay!! I hope he starts eating better for you again.
-that your visit with your son and his wife went well :)

Jango loves his superworms.. I also give him his crickets.. he gets them before the superworms to make sure he eats them though. Mike said he's gonna continue to get some crickets to since Jango is still eating them but he's gonna cut down on how many.. he said probably about 250 crickets and 500 superworms.. how's that sound? I am having a hard time finding oat or wheat bran around here for the superworms..none of the pet stores have it and I can't find it in the stores (unless i'm looking in the wrong place).. what else can they live in? I have a few pictures up if ya wanna see.

They can live in oatmeal, too, so not to worry about the wheat bran. I've heard they live in oat bran, too. Sounds good, as long as the crickets stay alive, I have to buy them for my geckos and they seem to die off really easily.

Titan ate roaches and supers today, guess he was hungry. Ate squash and collard greens, too, really liked the squash, will have to give it to him more often. When I put it in a dish, he just leaves it there, but his bugs go in a dish and he loves eating them that way, which is so much easier for me. I have to get a new scale soon, so I can weigh him, mine gave up the ghost, won't give the right grams anymore. It'll have to wait until my next pay, though, will see how it goes.

My other boys are doing well, too, though we're not getting any sunshine for the last 4 days, cold and rainy instead. It's like it's back to fall instead of spring!

Glad that Titan ate the roaches and supers, I know what you mean about summer coming and going, it seems like we get a few nice days and then back to crappy weather.

So you're getting that, too, isn't it just the pitts, guess it's out new spring this year. Good luck with all your finals this week, Lindz.

So I found a source and am getting 100 roaches for Titan on the weekend, I'm going to continue to mix them with supers, which is what I did yesterday and he ate everything I put out, good boy that he is. He's like a vacuum cleaner! But needs it all to grow, he's still so little, to my eyes anyway, I want him at big as Didi at least when he's full grown, bigger if possible. I'll try to not bother my colony, so the little ones can grow undisturbed. I'll put this batch into their own space so I don't have to get into the colony at all, seems to upset the females when I do that!

Time to get baths started. Have a good day, all!

Dubia and Supers sounds like a great mix! :D I feed Myah supers then give her Mylo's left over phoenix worms. Although...Mylo has become quite the little piggy, so poor Myah has only been getting 1-4 a day  I think I'll up that and cut down on the supers. She seems to be getting a little too round in the tummy area  I still may try the Dubia. I just won't tell my hubby...

my old Royal scale was about 15 years old, and only did in increments of 5 grams... and topped at 40 pounds. Finally went kerplooey when my kids decided to be smartalecs and "see what they weighed"... duh, they were over 40 pounds, so broke ours. I found a great replacement, does ounces, grams, pounds, kg, etc -- does up to 55 pounds at the high end (for shipping boxes) but does by 1 gram increments for my "smaller measurements" like leo, snake, dragons... I got it on ebay for like $23! I was very pleased

I'll check there, too, but there is a local store that has lots of different scales that I'll try first. I haven't ever tried ebay for anything, so should check it out after I check out the prices at the store I was told about.

Titan ate everything again today, but found out that the poor little guy can't digest collard greends, came out stinky and full leaves today, poor guy. So I'm going to get him some bok choy, it's much easier to digest and still green. My other dragons grew up on it as it was the only green I could find out here until Walmart opened. And I'm out of his size of roaches, so until I get the new batch, he's eating supers, at least he chews them well and digests them all. I have a friend who might be getting some phoenix worms in, so I'll try those, too, but that won't be for awhile.

Didi is so enjoying living on the ramp, don't know how he's going to react when he's put in a tank to sleep  I can hear the muttering now "what's dat mom doing to me, makez me stayz in dat tank when I wants to live on dat ramp, where Iz belongs"

I'm still waiting for sunshine so I can get everyone out in the sun a bit, but no luck so far & more rain coming tonight. Hopefully on the weekend it will be different!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
