Nasty Eye Infection

Good Evening. I must say, haven't been on here lately... may have been a year now?

Anywho, if you are there Drache, I'm wondering if you still have your website that sells medications...?

My dragons are fine everyone! But my crocodile skink seems to have obtained a nasty eye infection (it is entirely my fault. I seem to have neglected her between the months of July and November when moving and the worst of school took place). Her left eye is completely infected with a thick, white pussy appearance. She also hasn't eaten in 2 months. So, for the last 2 weeks I have been treating her eye with oxytetracycline 2x a day with a gentle force feeding in the morning (which we had extra of at work to treat bacterial infections) , but it appears that there has been no progress.

Now let me say, I take my animals to the vet. If anyone remembers Aussie's 3 year battle with the vet and an estimated $3k later... But it seems the holidays have distracted me mentally and have stolen from my wallet. My dog is actually going to the vet in a couple weeks for a $400 neuter.

I would just like a recommendation for an over-the-counter eye infection remedy. She is very active and alert and takes her food well.
Always, worse comes to worse (and after I've bought my school books for my last year of college) I will take her to my awesome vet.

Thank you,
Glue

I had a baby beardie that came out of the incubator with an obvious scratch from a hatching clutchmate, it swelled up completely shut with a glob of pus, and I used raw honey [ it must be unpasteurized ] I mixed a tiny bit with equal amount of warm water and applied with a Q-tip 2-3 X a day and it healed up in about 2 days. Just a suggestion, raw honey is a natural antibacterial/antibiotic and is safe for application in the eyes as well as a wound dressing.

Wow, thank you for the advice. I always admire natural antibiotic tricks and tips.

I have been using oxytetracycline ointment for about a week and a half now and it has def gotten better, especially after removing the excess puss and medication before applying the medicine with eye wash. Her eye is def clearing up. I give it about a week more before I place her with her mate.

She is still not eating as often if at all, but I am assuming that it is because she is in a hospital tank that is not usually dressed with all of the intricate hiding places and comforts (and because I'm handling her twice a day to apply the medication). She is expectantly stressed.

Thank you!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
