Hello!
My name is Madison, and I've been wandering around this site for a while. I made an account a few weeks back to ask for some help with my baby dragon, but I've decided I should formally introduce myself since I'm kind of addicted to this site now and will probably be on here quite a bit from now on
This is my first time owning a bearded dragon (or any reptile, for that matter). I got George about 2 months ago (6/15/13), and I'm amazed at just how much personality can fit into so small of a creature. Here's a picture of George from a few weeks ago:
I got him at Petco (back before I discovered that it's not the greatest place to buy reptiles), and the woman who sold him to me told me he was probably about 4 months old. I didn't know very much about dragons at the time so I believed her, but at only 6 inches and 7 grams I'm now guessing that he was probably only about a month old (or maybe even younger!) when I bought him. We had a slow start since he didn't much care for crickets, or any other food that I tried to give him, but now he's eating phoenix worms like crazy and is getting a tad bigger everyday
Thanks to this site and all the great advice, George is really healthy and doing really well. I think it's awesome that there's a place where so many people are dedicated to their animals, and also love helping other people with their beardies too!
