Haha! Yes Marley is very cute. Pete has a bigger gut than Marley though! Marley cracks me up how he holds his mouth open a tiny bit, like all the time.

Did you choose different colored sand for each one?

Actually since they are both males they really dont like it when i let one or the other run around my room, jealousy i suppose. but for me they are great neighbors, i wasnt sure how you meant that.

When i first got Pete he had that white sand, and that stuff made him white and you could never see his true color or markings, which when you have a Dragon you wanna be able to see, and when i got Marley he had just regular sand from PETCO. So i changed Petes sand, i got the Zilla Crushed Walnuts stuff. Not only does it smell really good it is easy to clean with a little sand sifter. So thats what i also added to Marley's cage. and i know if they for some reason eat it, it wont actually be sand in their stomachs.

I meant neighbors because I noticed they both had their own vivariums, so not roommates, but neighbors. For you they're probably nice roommates, but saying they're nice roommates would have to be for the larger room, since they're both males and not likely to be willing to share a bunk.

If you read a lot here and are worried about sand in the stomachs, you'll either have to ignore the warnings about loose material all together, or switch to wipe-up surfaces instead of scoop-up. (some consider crushed walnut worse than sand because it could swell, maybe, inside the gut) There is not any material smaller than the dragon's arm-span which will earn the safety rating of 'recommendable'. For both ingestion and cleanliness, they're not recommended.

But it's all kinda like, "don't stick anything in your ear that is sharper than your elbow." It all comes down to what advice you can give some people and not feel liable when they try it.

Okay well i will look some more and see what other people say i suppose, i know what you told me is valubable information and i thank you for that! i will post pictures of their Vivariums too! i just made one for Marley out of some old windows and some ply wood. it looks really sweet!

Cute!!! But I'd be careful with the sand. You probably know all about impaction though, so yeah

You know, i watch them every single times they eat, and i feed them everything they eat out of bowls, they have never eaten sand, and if they have it was a couple little tiny pebbles. I have also watched them enough to know that they wont just sit there and chow down on some sand. So i think if i am using sand i am safe. But if i make another vivarium i might just think about using tile or something different to see how that works. im sure there are many diffrent things you can use.
