My sisters unlucky lizard named Baby

Okay you guys I came on here looking for help for my sisters bearded dragon Baby one day she hurt her foot ( its sad to watch her walk but knowing that she can walk means her foot is getting better) & one day when she was on her hammock she jumped down & landed on her food bowl (I tolled my sister to check on her to see if she's okay but she either forgot or didn't do it :roll: ) my sister tolled me that she thinks Baby might be hurt again because Baby stay on the food bowl all day she even slept there :shock: so I checked her & it turns out she hurt her arm on the same side were she hurt her leg my sister & my mom are having trouble finding a reptile vet near us so I wanted to ask you guys. Do you guys know any reptile vets near or in Huber Heights OH? If your do please tell me I will be very grateful :mrgreen:

She shouldn't be injuring herself so easily though. Are you using a UVB light over her regularly & calcium supplementation 4-5 times per week?

My sisters beardie HAD a UVB light but It blew & my sister still hasn't bought a new one :roll: & she doesn't use calcium (even though I gave her two bags of some of my bearded dragons calcium but she lost them).

Honestly baby has had a rough life we could tell cause when we got her she was super skinny & scared of people. Now that she's living with my sister in her room I honestly can't say its gotten better. The animal lover in me says give her away to a better home but the big sister in me just cant but I am getting tired of caring for my sisters pet & telling her over & over to take better care of baby so I think its time for me to take charge & possibally save an animals life.

If you think your sister is being irresponsible, which is sounds like based off your remarks, I would definitely encourage you to intervene. The animal should not be made to suffer because your sis can't or won't provide for her.

How long has Baby been with your sis and how long has it been since the bulb blew out? If the sun is shining where you are and outdoor temps are warm, you can take Baby outdoors for UVB. I'm worried though because if she's injuring herself this easily, she probably has calcium deficiencies. Even if your sister is giving her the calcium, without the UVB, she can't metabolize it so its rather worthless.
