Bill and I send our sympathies. It must be harder for you than a "normal" pet death. We would be thinking about how hard it was for them, dying from smoke, unable to breath.

Try to think of it this way, it was probably a fairly easy death. Smoke makes you fall asleep and once you're unconcious you don't feel the pain. That's what the firemen told us when our trailers burnt 14 years ago and we lost about 30 animals.

Thank you all for your kind words. I am sorry it has taken me so long to reply. Our house is damaged beyond repair. So we are currently living in a hotel until we can find a place to rent. As for being set up for beardies... I'm not ready nor have the ability. I do want to get more babies in the future, but it is going to take anywhere from 6 months to a year or longer for them to rebuild the house (insurance is covering everything thankfully).

Just one note for everyone and I have been saying this to everyone I talk to, DO NOT leave your dryer on when you are not home. Thats what caused the fire.

Oh my gosh...
That is the most tragic thing I have heard yet. I cannot even begin to imagine the turmoil you're going through. It must be awful... We're all a huge family here, so DO NOT be afraid to talk to ANYONE on here! Losing your babies is never easy, and I can't imagine what its like to lose everything you have. We are here for you at any moment, so don't hesitate to PM anyone on here if you need someone to talk to. My deepest condolences and prayers go out to you and your family, and also to your beloved babies that were lost. I know its said alot, but they are in a wonderful place now. They are all smiling down at you and your family right now, and they will always be watching over you.
Trillions of cyber hugs to you and your family. You'll be in my thought and prayers. We love you! stay strong Dahni!

I am so sorry to hear what happened :( As a matter of fact, I know exactly what you are going through.... Last year, around the same time, my house also caught fire and I lost a whole lot, including my new corn snake. I was devastated, so my condolences to you and your family. It's been a year and my family and I are still living in a rented house awaiting the day we are able to move back into our house.. I hope everything works out for the best

Nothing I can say could ease the pain you are feeling right now. The only thing I can hope for you is that you always remember everyday of your babies lives you gave them one of the most enjoyable experiences they could have had. They had been safe, loved, and fed. This is far more than they could have ever hoped to have in the wild or in most people's care. I have found to my surprise that no matter how many pets come and go the heart is and endless font of love and tenderness for pets and there is always enough love for one more.

My hear goes out to you.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
