My new crestie!

Good morning,
Just had to pick one of these guys up when I saw them at my reptile store! His name is Moe, he's just about two months old. Quick question, how do you help them to shed? He's had two pieces of skin on his back that i can't seem to get off, and I don't want to hurt him. Every time I try to get them he starts walking/jumping. Also, I don't know if he knows where his food is, so I've been spoon-feeding him since I got him, and then leaving his bowl in the cage. Any tips would be great! Thanks!

You can leave a small bowl of crestie mush in his tank over night and he will go ahead and eat it up(not necessarily all of it, but if he does, put a little bit more the next feeding) What you need to do is keep the humidity up in his cage. I mist a small bit in the mornings and quite a bit more at night, and I have never had problems with shedding. But if you must get his little pieces of shed off, what you should do is get a small square of paper towel or toilet paper(anything soft) and dampen it. Then you can gently put it on top of his back and let him wriggle out from under it on his own. If you do that enough it should brush off the shed after a few tries =) If it bugged him that much, I'm sure he would pick it off and eat it xD So I think there's nothing to worry about, really

Do you have Moe in a ten gallon? i would consider changing your tanks from horizontal to vertical. Crested geckos are aboreal and will spend the majority of their time in the leaves and branches of trees. Giving him more height will be better for him. As for shedding, in no way shape or form should you ever pull his shed off. it can be damaging to their scales and cause him pain. when it is ready to come off it will
