My new bearded dragon won’t open his right eye.

I had bought two different uvb lights for him and turns out they suck and just order a new reptisun 10.0 one w a fixture. He’s been sleeping a lot. Doesn’t really like crickets. He eats small super worms and I gave him like 2 was worms as a treat today. His tail was shedding so I gave him a bath last nice and it came off. He hasn’t been very active. Very sleepy. I just got him last Tuesday. He has a 40 gallon tank. And a 75 or a100 watt basking bulb. He has a hide and branches to chimb on to bask. Also made him a Bush this in out of fake flowers and leaves. He usually poops on them and basks there. I mist him w water a couple times a day. He was eating kale and dandelion greens the first few days. Hasn’t eaten much lately. He poops regularly. Idk what’s wrong w his eye. His new uvb light should be in tomorrow or Friday. Just have a heat lamp until I get it. Don’t want those other ones to mess him up even more

Update. He opens it when I move him sometimes like from having him in my hand to on my arm then he closes it again. It’s closed when I try to feed him too. I rinsed it w some water. It doesn’t look different from the other eye just the lower eyelid seems a little darker. Not sure though

Hello,

He is a little cutie indeed. Are you using a bright white light for him & not a colored light,
correct? What about your substrate, is it a solid substrate or a loose substrate?
He could be shedding too. Sometimes they will get stuck shed on or around their eye that
irritates it also. You can get some sterile saline solution to use, to flush out his eye daily to
see if that helps out.
How is his appetite doing?

I use a bright white light and I ordered a reptisun uvb tune bulb and fixture for him which is coming in tomorrow. No colored lights. His substrate is repticarpet. He was shedding on his tail a day or two ago but it seems like he’s done on his tail. I just noticed this morning that he is shedding on his right front leg so maybe he is getting ready to shed his face. As for his appetite he ate once yesterday maybe like 5 superworms and 2 wax worms ( its not a staple in his diet I just wanted him to eat something) and I need to order some Dubia roaches since he has no interest in crickets. And today he ate two superworms when I woke him up. It’s only 8:45 AM where I am.

This is his encloser. He also has been pretty lazy. Just sleeping in his basking spot a lot.

Hello,

It looks like you are using a compact/coil UVB light currently is that correct? If so, that might
be part of the eye issue culprit. They can be a bit abrasive on the eyes. Since you have just
ordered the Reptisun 10 tube bulb, you could just turn the other compact/coil light off & just
use the basking light while you are waiting on your tube bulb to come in.
He will be fine without that for a short period of time.
That's great he did eat something today. I hope he is feeling better soon. Please let us know
how he is doing & when the new light comes in.

Yeah that picture was from a day or two ago I already returned that. And hopefully all of this is just because of him shedding.

Hello,

He is going through basically an entire body shed then! It is likely the combination of the
light & the shedding. I think he will be fine, but, I'm glad you went ahead & turned the
light off & ordered the tube bulb instead.
Let us know how he is doing!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
