Hello, I am new to this forum.

Anyhow, I just got a new bearded dragon last week. (Toothless, for future reference)

From my research, toothless is about 3 months old ( he is currently 10inches from head to tail)

He has not been eating well since day 1, when I put him to a seperate feeding tank ( as I use sand for substrate ) , he does not even chase or bothers about the crikets. I tried hand feeding but to no avail. However, I do have a few successful tries while hand feeding a couple of mealworms (I feed in moderation as he refuse crikets), and tricked him to eating a couple crikets too.

I have realised a few days ago that he is starting to shed. His body area is still bright, the head, tail, limbs and legs are ash grey.

I am worried he is not eating well, I do mist him couple of times a day and give him showers about 3 times a week.

May I know if there is anything I can do better?

Is it starving? Must I resort to force feeding?

How long would the shedding last?

Thank you in advance for all your kind replies. :)

I would try to attach a picture of him too, if possible, anyone could identify it's morph. I'm quite positive he is a normal but his patterns and colours are amazing.

-how do I upload an image ?

Hi there....he is really a beauty ! He looks like a leatherback, but not a smooth one, or at least has reduced scales. If his nails are all clear he would be a hypo. He may still have relocation stress, so is not eating.....that happens to a lot of dragons. He won't starve to death, don't worry. It might be best to get rid of that sand , it is a serious impaction risk, and then you can feed him in his tank instead of adding to his stress by putting him in another tank to feed him. For hydration, just very gently spray his head so he drinks as the drops form on his mouth. Be sure not to get the tank very wet at all.

Hello AHBD,

Thank you for your kind and helpful reply.
I might be removing the sand, and slowly re-introduce sand afterwards. (Honestly speaking)

I think it's due to his shedding too. Anyhow, would give it a couple of days. Hope he gets better. Thank you again for your kind reply.

Cheers.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
