Hi all! A few days ago, I got a new baby beardie.. the first night I brought him home he chased down crickets like a crazy person. Since then however.. he shows no interest in crickets at all. I’ve tried multiple things from taking him out of the tank and into a smaller container to eat.. or removing everything the crickets can use to hide from the tank.. even killing a cricket and wiggling it in front of him.. nothing. He has ate a cpl meal worms in the past few days.. seems to b the only thing he will eat.. I know they aren’t good for digestion.. so I really don’t wanna keep giving in with the mealworms..but I don’t want him to starve! Can I just only offer crickets.. maybe just keep them in the tank for the day.. will he eventually get hungry enough to stop being so picky.. or will they starve themselves to death? He’s already skinny and tiny enough.. I just want him to be healthy and grow! Ugh. Oh he is pooping everyday also.. so everything seems to be moving alright.. and no.. I don’t use sand. Any ideas?

Hello,

This can sometimes happen when you bring a new one home.
Can you review your tank setup with us such as the type & brand of UVB, temperatures &
supplementation?
How large are the crickets, smaller than the space between the eyes?
Usually they wont starve themselves to death though, most of the time. Will he eat any
greens yet?

Yes.. he will eat greens out of my hand.. but usually only 1 or 2 bites. Also mealworms..but I stopped giving those.hes backwards.lol. Usually have to train them to eat greens not crickets! . the crickets are small. Just his size. I gave him a bath today, and he lapped up water. Let’s see.. I have a 20 gal tank..basking side around 100degrees.. cool side 80.. reptile carpet.. pretty tall basking rock.. reptile hammock. About 6 in from light.. for the lamps I have 2 dome ones. All living things I know I need a long fluorescent uvb.. I’m working on getting one.. but the heat lamp is 100w... uvb 26w 10.0

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
