My neck.

Why does my bearded dragon have an obsession off resting on my neck?
Is it because of the main artery's in the neck letting off heat or something?

It's a little weird sometimes and really ticklish, He's 10-11 weeks old.
Good as gold when I handle him, Handle him at least 3 times a day and feed him once a day (alot of crickets) I would feed him more but I work full time unfortunetly!

Its possible, or it might be because its trying to hide from your face! Haha jk :mrgreen:

It's possible that your baby likes it there because it's warm, or maybe it just feels the most secure there.

Mine does the same thing, if I have him on my lap he crawls up my shirt to be in the crook of my neck, if I have him on the couch he crawls up me and does the same thing. I think its because its warm and secure and really they get the best vantage point there. He can see everything from up there
Or it could be something to do with the head being the focal point of the body. When you pet a dog, it looks up at your face. If you interact with a cat, it looks at your face. I mean, when you look at your dragon your more likely then not looking at its face to gage its reaction, not its back or stomach or legs. Maybe being close to your head and face is being the closest to you. Thats just my theory though.... :study:

My girl does the same thing. I think she feels safe there, when she gets scared of something, she will run up my shirt and hide under my chin on my neck.

Igor does it for heat and security. he always has to bury his head (at minimum) under the collar of my shirt. the other night he buried it under the collar of my shirt and my bra strap :shock: lol. i hear him licking my hair sometimes too. he prefers to snuggle when my hair is down, vs. up in a pony tail (he can hide better that way)

I don't exactly know what sort of level of intelligence they possess , but even babies look for the face so you would think a dragon would know that the face is the center point to pay attention to....

Beardies can be pretty damn smart, and they put it to use use sometimes too. Every time Spike is out, he gets somewhere I thought I'd blocked off well. I always sit with my arm resting on the side of my couch, and he sits on my arm with his nose in my ear. Scares the crap outta me when he snorts.
