My milestone event. Now with pics.

Omar voluntarily came out of his viv onto my hand for the first time this evening. I was really nervous too as i thought he would try and make a jump for freedom. I walked around with him for about five mins so he could get a good look at where he was living and then sat down. He got a bit frisky trying to climb all over the place so i walked back over to his viv with him still in my hand and just held him for another min until he went back in on his own. He is just over 8 weeks old and i have been waiting for this moment since i got him but he has always been so skittish.
It all started this evening when i just started watching him, we put some background in his viv of some dinosaurs and he was running from end to end looking at the drawings and jumping at them. I took the glass sliding doors out of his viv as he also likes to jump up and peek out at the room. Everytime he would edge out further so i stood there with my hand right beside him as there is a three foot drop to the ground. The fifth time he did it he got the courage to step out onto my hand and i got the courage to hold my hand steady . Sorry for the long post but i feel so happy about this achievement. When i get a digi camera sorted there will be pics to follow of my little man/woman.

Unfortunately, my dragons came from my friend, was I was never able to have that experience. But, they are very tame and love to be taken out as much as possible.

I hope Omar becomes like that one day .

I dont know what mine are either.... but it's fun to see how they change as they grow!!!!

Those pictures of the dinosaurs in the viv, well Omar has taken to jumping at them. He will be basking on his rock and all of a sudden he will lunge towards them and landing on the ground. Its only a matter of two or three inches, but might it be a good idea to change the background?

HAAA!!! That is hilarious about the jumping at the dinosaurs :lol: :lol: :lol: Does he get a little darker when he does it? If not, I wouldn't worry about it.... looks like lil Omar has a pure white belly! Wow, that is one trusting and happy baby. Congrats on the new bond :wink:

Not really, it stays the same colour. He is shedding at the moment and did not feel like being handled today. He still had a go at the poster though

Spyro used to do the lunge at the poster thing when she was younger. I used to worry about her as sometimes she would jump off her rock, splat against the poster and slide down..... but hey, she doesn't do that anymore and seems none the worse for her attempts to reach that desert she couldn't get to :lol:
