Hello all, and thank you for looking at Critter's post. I lost my Critter on ____(not sure of exact date)____ it was a very hard time. Now that some of the things have settled I am prepared, emotionally to write a memorial. Not for me. But for Critter. I want you all to know that not only did I lose Critter, and although he is still watching me, I cannot hold him. I can tell him how much I love him, of course. But I can't have any physical interaction at the moment, although sometimes I swear his spirit stills jumps up and down in the cage when I go into my room. Critter is in heaven, and he cannot be sad anymore. However even though he can't feel the burden of me not holding him, even though the bliss of heaven masks it, it may still be there. So, all who reads this, please please send me a private message but do not direct it to me. No. Direct it to Critter.

"Life is not measured by how many breaths we take, but by how many times our breath is taken away."

Pictures of Critter ..... coming soon. Can't get them to upload for some reason.

Now I would like to ask of all of you to join me in song ..... Amazing Grace

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.

The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.

When we've been here ten thousand years...
bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise...
then when we've first begun.

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

Critter's short life was not a sad one, oh no. He was givin' all of the care and love that any bearded dragon could ever dream of. On my birthday I was completely thrilled to open up the green bag with cute dogs on it to see a box that said, Bearded Dragon Kit. My family circled around me, they all smiled wide smiles as I let out a small shriek of joy. My dad then piped up.

"Well, now you get to spend your birthday money on the Bearded Dragon!"

"Okay!" I said, too excited to care about having to break the bank and buy a Bearded Dragon.

I watched as my mom slipped into the hall, and soon was back with a small round plastic container that read, Do Not Shake! With an irriplaceable smile mom sat the little, round, flimsy, plastic container in my lap. I peered inside as if I had no idea what was in it. There I seen a little brown thing, with a flat chubby body, propped up on the plastic checking the world out. However, not a second later he twisted his head nearly completely around and with two dark beady eyes looked right into mine. Oh ... that was it, the "Beardie Bug" had bit.

"I'll go get the cage out of his room ... well come on Chris aren't ya going to hold it!" Dad said as he sauntered down the hall.

I looked at Dustin my brother and then at mom, I have a Bearded dragon, I have a bearded dragon, I have a Bearded Dragon! It could hardly not shake as the whole moment sunk in. I popped the lid off, and reached in, then came a large hesitation. I was scared, scared stiff. I didn't want to hurt him, how was I suppose to grab that little little, fragile, flat creature without hurting it? I stuck my two fingers, pointer and thumb into the small container. I tried to just scoop him, but panicked as I felt his stomach, it felt extremely soft and fragile. I looked up at my brother, whose
eyes were beaming.

"Do you need me to get it out for you?" he asked.

"Sure, if you want," I was almost glad to get it off of my shoulders.

Well, Dustin did the same thing and gently sat the cup back on my lap. I peered inside, he peered at me, his eyes were saying, "Dangit you two! Just pick
me up!"

Not wanting to dissapoint the king anymore, I just picked him up. His legs squirmed a little as I sat him on my hand, I gently held the base of his tail as I had learned. He was so cute. After a few minutes, he rested his little head on my fingers. I peered over at him, his breathing had slowed. He was asleep in my
hand.

-To Be Continued-

"Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because the dawn has come.--Rabindranath Tagore

Now please read this next song, "If I Had Only Known" by Reba Mcentire.

If I had only known
It was the last walk in the rain
Id keep you out for hours in the storm
I would hold your hand
Like a life line to my heart
Underneath the thunder wed be warm
If I had only known
It was our last walk in the rain

If I had only known
Id never hear your voice again
Id memorize each thing you ever said
And on those lonely nights
I could think of them once more
Keep your words alive inside my head
If I had only known
Id never hear your voice again

You were the treasure in my hand
You were the one who always stood beside me
So unaware I foolishly believed
That you would always be there
But then there came a day
And I turned my head and you slipped away

If I had only known
It was my last night by your side
Id pray a miracle would stop the dawn
And when you'd smile at me
I would look into your eyes
And make sure you know my love
For you goes on and on
If I had only known
If I had only known
The love I would've shown
If I had only known

Now back to First Getting Critter, after one more quote!

"Can you visualize a world with no more death, no more pain, no more hunger, no more fear, no more sorrow, no more crying nor sickness, a world where everything is a joy and a pleasure? -- A society where everybody works together in harmony, cooperation and love? That's Heaven!----David Brandt Berg

Now, with Critter in my hand, asleep, I carefully walked into my room to see how the cage was coming along. It was all ready, except for a basking spot and the Bearded Dragon.

"What should I name him?" I asked.

"I've been calling him Critter," mom said.

Yeah, Critter, Critter. I like that, Critter.

"I like that name!" I said, watching mom plug in the holder for the basking bulb.

"Okay, now just put him in!" I gently put Critter in, trying not to wake him. However, I think that that was inevitable, and I immediately got a glare. Now right
after putting Critter in his cage we had to go to the store and get another UVB for the stupid pet store gal told mom and dad to get a coil. We then got a Rept-Glo, and ran back into the pet store. The woman who had helped my mom and dad had apparently been giving them trouble in the fact that she just sold
everyone everything, telling them that it was the right thing.

Now as life went on, Critter got fed about 30-40 crickets twice a day. Was held everyday, however, no matter how hard I tried, he always had stress marks.
However, the only time when they would fade, nearly gone, is when I would hold him. Oh gosh, how I miss my little baby so much! He was so friendly, at such
a little age. Would you even believe it, he even put up with baths fairly well. Although after about five mintues he would decide to climb up my arm or sit on my
hand, waiting for me to pull him up. When I didn't he might glare at me for a second, but then persist to get back on my hand, giving me a second chance to
do as sire wanted.

Now a few more quotes, and perhaps a song and I'll start summarizing the short end of my Critter.

"Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.--Thomas Moore

"I shall not live 'till I see God; and when I have seen Him, I shall never die.--John Donne

That morning I woke up, and as usual immediately turned on Critter's light and began to prepare to feed him his breakfast. He perked up as usual, and
bounded all around happy to see me, however probably more excited knowing breakfast was coming. I dropped the crickets in, and ate breakfast, and went
to school. I came home from school. However this day, for whatever reason I didn't go in and check on Critter right after school.

That night, at around 4:50, mom called on her way home from work, and asked if I needed any crickets. I said yes, and this reminded me to check on Critter. When I went in, I first of all noticed something was wrong because he was on his blankey that he usually only goes on to sleep at nighttime. However,
tonight he was on it. His legs were sprawled out funny, my mind swarmed. Critter looked very dead.

I began to sob hysterically, I managed to tell mom that Critter looked dead, my brother went in to see if he really was dead, as by now I was crying to hard
to even see halfway crooked. I heard him shreak and he ran in telling me that Critter wasn't dead. I ran in, and I noticed he was moving, but it wasn't right, it
was like his legs weren't working at all, he just more or less scooted.

However, finally, after a long battle, at around 9:00 PM, Critter passed away, on his favorite blanket. We found a small box, wrapped him up in his prized
blanket, and put him to rest.

Well, there it is. Thank you for reading it, and please, PLEASE send me an email at [email protected] . Just say in one to two sentences what
you thought of my memorial and where it could improve. Then, the rest, dedicate to Critter. Wish him luck, just talk to him, do this for Critter. Do this .....
for my little buddy. Or better yet, you could just PM me about this memorial. But PLEASE get back to me!

Bye-Bye Critter. Daddy misses you everyday!
