My Journey With Sparx

Figured I love updating people with photos and stories of my baby girl, Sparx, but alas, I only have so many friends and family who are willing to listen to my reptiStories for a short amount of time. Might as well share them with fellow beardie lovers - so here I am!

To start, I'll just add a couple pictures to get this little "journey-thread" going but will be sure to update things as she ages, grows and shows her true personality. ^-^

Picture One: Just yesterday - she's going through another shed. She's officially shed all of her tail but we're still waiting on her legs, body and head. It's getting there and she's been getting a slightly longer bath each day (or a couple short baths).

Picture Two: Last warm day before the cold spell hit. Just a little close up of her enjoying the outside. About a week ago.

Thanks for looking! I'm sure it won't be long before I have a story or another picture or two to share ^-^

OMG!! She is beautiful!!

I would definitely have to agree with you! She's definitely responsible for my now interest in reptiles (especially since I would love to have another Beardie or two later  ). And thank you! ^-^

Sparx has been going through her first full-body shed. Unfortunately it hasn't been as easy as previous sheds as this one has been prolonged for a couple weeks. It started by a simple shedding of the tail which then expanded to her body, head and legs. By the time she start shedding her tail, the rest of her body was gray in color and ready to shed. She's been so irritable and hasn't been eating well. Minimal munching on veggies, a couple crickets and I've been able to coax her into eat 2-3 mealworms per day. Hopefully shedding isn't always that long or rough. My poor babes is really perking up now that she only has a smidge bit of shedding left to do on the top of her head.

Picture One: Photo of my babes early this morning. Finishing up that awful shed.

Picture Two: The "Thank Goodness this is almost over" face.

Picture Three: Her beautiful colors are coming back...of course, brighter than before!

Picture Four: Flashback to her size when I got her on September 7th! You can see in Picture One that she barely fits on the same rock - her tail hangs off even more. I can't believe she's grown so much already. I need to start keeping a chart!

I just cannot believe how fast Sparx is growing. Not even a month ago she was 8.2" long and tonight I measured her at 9.4" - and she's finally starting to "chunk" up. I'll try uploading new photos later - she's getting more and more beautiful every day!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
