My, how fast they grow...

I got Darwin May 5th as a 6 inch little wisp of nothing who would play on my thumb:

And now has gotten to be a 16" monster that has to sleep on my lap:

We are about to celebrate our 4 month anniversary soon. 10 inches in less than 4 months...is that normal? :shock: Every time I bring him out to show my roommate he is freaked out about how much Darwin's grown since the last time he's seen him. He started off with a basking brick that was longer than him (head to tail), and now his body barely fits down the length of the brick and his sides hang off the side of the brick.

I blame this website for my monster

Where did you get him from? Did you get him from a petstore? I have a friend who I gave a beardie to that was from a petstore, and he was super tiny.. that was back in June.. Now he's a huge monster.. 300 grams and 16 inches long... Pet store beardies seem to hide their age quite well because of the lack of UVB lighting and care.. so a 3 month old actually will only look like it's 4 weeks old.. then when they get home and are taken care of correctly, they catch up to the size they should be!

You're right! I got him from Petsmart, and he was the largest of the bunch there. I'm glad he's gotten so big, cuz it means I must be doing something right...

He may have some giant in him, but that is a huge amount of growth in 4 months he looks healthy great job!

Wow amazing!! I picked up my guy from Petco. Hard to say how old he is. But barely 7 inches to start. In 2 weeks he grew 1/2 inch. Darwin looks awesome!

They DO grow. I love looking at pics of how they grow up. We got The Tikster around a year old. However she's apparently still growing! The sheds!!!

Darwin is so adorbs!!!!!

He looks great! Good job with Darwin! I bought my Loki in 2005 at a pet store, and she was a tiny little speck that sat on my thumb. Now she's a monster! :shock:

Thanks guys! I still can't believe how much he's changed and finally settled down since I got him. We've come a long way from his taking leaps off my hand, freaking me out that he may have hurt himself, to finally just sitting on my shoulder for an hour while I'm on my computer. Enjoy them while they're babies! Difficult but so worth it
