My friends beardie named roadside

My good friends dad works on the NJ turnpike. One day he called me saying he found a lizard on the side of it cage and all it was at least a $300 set up. When I got there he was impacted so I did the bath treatment. He was fine I was studying his behavior and noticed his front hands are backward and he walks on the side of them. I really thought it was weird and another concern I noticed was he has a giant I mean giant bump right on top of his lower back at the start of the tail. He still has all those problems but he looks happy and he's really energetic and funny. that's the story of roadside. I really would like to know what's up with his tail and hands. I think he's deformed at birth but I have no clue on this one.

The deformed feet and hump on the back sounds like he has MBD. Lack of calcium and/or the wrong UVB or no UVB at all. Best to have him checked out at a vets. Make sure he has a repti-sun 10% UVB TUBE bulb. The best out there and with the vets help and calcium he should be able to at least get back some mobility, but he will ever be 100% again. I hope this helps some.

Severe MBD cases generally don't see a full recovery. This does not mean, however, that a beardie won't be able to live a full and happy life!

What about that lump? Do you plan on taking him to a vet to get that looked at? Lumps could be a myriad of different things; tumor, abscess, fungal, or something else. The best thing to do is get a biopsy done to find out what treatment he needs. My rescued beardie also had a lump on her but it was right in front of her eye. It wasn't anything serious, cell wise, but it was impacting how should could hunt and eat. If the lump grows, it might impact Roadside's health or mobility. I would strong suggest you have that lump looked at. It might be benign in nature, but it's always better to find out sooner than later. Especially if it's something more serious!

I'm glad to see you are taking care of him! What a horrible way to be discarded... left on the side of the road like that. The poor dear was probably so frightened. :(

It really is sad that it happened he's very sick looking to. His poop is bright orange. I think he's about a year nd a half but he's really smll for his age. When he tries to run he gets to excited and falls on his face and I feel so bad. My friends gonn take him to the vet sometime this month.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
