My electric bill is too high, any tips?

Especially since winter is coming, it takes a lot of electricity to keep my 11 lizards/amphibians/tarantula warm. Does anyone have tips for lowering the electric bill? So far I have covered any drafts in the cages and moved all the animals inside.

Only thing you can do is find low wattage replacement bulbs that still produce the heat you need.

Although, it's kind of asinine seeing as the amount of money you are going to spend on bulbs trying to find what will work will kind of cancel out any electricity savings.

How many bulbs do you use and what are their wattages?

There really isn't much you can do, especially if you already have all the tanks in the same room.

Try thinking outside of the box, or in this case the enclosure.

Lower the thermostat on the refrigerator, lower brightness on TVs and computers. Is the room their inside unusally cold? The tanks could be losing overall temps because the room is cold.

Also, out here where I'm from, we have the electric and gas usage under the same bill, so check to make sure your gas usuage is in check as well
