Hissing roaches are just gross. I can handle just about any bug now, but those still freak me out. I was at my local shop where I bought my roaches, and just to demonstrate how much his dragons loved them he tossed in an adult discoid, which the adult took more than willingly, but I imagine he didn't want more after that. But Tom (the owner of the shop) tossed in a hisser too. The beardie watched it for a bit as it hissed like mad stuck on its back... tried clawing at it to shut it up, but when that didn't work he bit off the hisser's head and just left the body flailing around on the ground, then went back to basking lol.

In regards to this:

Ok, silly question - do you put the food in a small lid or something or just dump in on the end somewhere so the little ones can get to it?

I just throw it all on the bottom of the tub. I make sure there's a clear space in the middle (without any egg crates or paper towel tubes) and just put it all in there. They always freak out and run away when I reach in there, then come running back out when they realize there's food.

And as for this:

I had to peep tonight (felt like a voyeur) - they didn't seem all that active so I lifted the egg crate - they are hiding in there. Not sure why they weren't all out partying like I thought they would be since it was DARK in the room.

If you just got them yesterday (right?) maybe they're still shaken up from the careful handling of the USPS. Then again, I have 200+ roaches in my bin but I never see more than 10 or so at a time, even at night. In fact, I see so few of them that just now when I typed "I have 200+ roaches" I had to stop and think, because I wasn't sure that was true. Though, today I was showing them to my 5-year-old neice and I picked up a paper towel roll and it was actually really heavy because there were so many roaches in it.

My neice liked my roaches, lol. She thought they were cool, and she was asking me which ones were "mommy roaches" and which ones were "daddy roaches" so I pointed out the differences between the males and females, lol.

ROFL from the careful handling of the USPS OMG do you know my carrier by any chance? (if they ONLY knew what was in that box)

My order was for over 200 ...don't know where they are all at and honestly I'm not going to count them! It is fun to find their hiding spots - like under that lid I was using to feed them in. I might take that out and just dump the food in (I do that for the crix). I think I'm going to put some tubes in so when it's time to use them as feeders, it's easier to get them out as I still can't bring myself around to touching them!

OK Trog ..that just grossed me out - leaving part of an uneaten roach. I could see Angus doing that to me as well - EEWW!

That's similar to what my outdoor cats do though - bring uneaten remains of their trophies! YUCK I tell them if they are to bring their food around, THEY must eat all of it!

Lol, cats actually bring that home as a gift for you. It is a sign of affection.

OHHH not the big bunny wabbit! I tried to get close and my one guy (who's the major hunter) growled at me. Of course he could have been growling at the others that were wanting to get in on the score! LOL I told him he was a good hunter kitty but he had to take it somewhere else! I ended up having to coax him to the side of the house. He also goes to my neighbors pond and fishes!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
