My Beloved Popcorn

I just lost my big girl today. I took her to the vet a week ago and had a follow-up schedule. He suspected that the mass in her mouth was cancer and was going to see if this medicine would shrink it first. It was a large aggressive tumor and would be hard to get rid of. She expired this Sunday morning at 4:00 a.m. I was getting ready to go deer hunting this morning when I found my big girl. I'm glad she went to sleep at home because I wasn't looking forward to putting her to sleep. I will miss her.

Popcorn parented many babies. Her babies have made many people happy in Illinois. I have one of her daughters and grandkids. Popcorn enjoyed people and was taken to many pre-schools, Sunday school classes and public reptile shows. She helped change peoples minds about reptiles. My big girl even had her picture in the journal star paper from the 2009 reptile show. I have been depressed today. I will miss my big girl. She was a shy gentle creature. She was about 6 years old. I did everything I could for her to make her comfy. We buried her outside my bedroom window so she could always be closed to us.
