About a week ago, I learned that my baby beardie had pinworms. I was given medication to give him once a day for 5 days and he just took the last of it today. The past couple of days he hasn't been eating any crickets or fruit I try and give him and ia looking really thin. He is extracting stool but it is white. I can't tell if it's stool that's white from the medication or urate. He is only about a month or two old. Please help. I want him to feel better.

Tank setup:
75 watt basking light (basking side 95 to 105 degrees while cooling side is around 80 degrees.)
13w 10.00 UVB light
20 gallon tank
Carpet substrate
Also there is a heating pad on the outside on the tank by his rock for additional heating at night since it's cooler in my room.
He is about 6 inches long

hopefully the medication is just keeping him full or with no appetite, i'd wait for a day to see if he gets his appetite back. if not then definitely see about getting him some carnivore care or something, call up the vet to see if the medication causes those effects?

when they are that small they are usually quite skinny. I would ask the vet if a lack of appetite is common with that medication. Also, try dabbing some pure apple sauce, or baby food on his nose and see if he will lick it off.

Hi. What kind of meds? Dose? Lots of times the meds are very harsh on them. Did you ask the vet for critical care? Also give him some probiotic to help establish his good gut flora. Soy yogurt can be used.

He's a pretty little leatherback. :) Poor little guy, I think that's a very high dose. Is that what was written on the bottle ? or was it 0.1 ml ? At any rate , Panacur is not as harmful as some other meds, but it will surely make him feel sick and affect his appetite. It's not really good to deworm a dragon before they weigh about 50 grams, some vets do it anyway.....at his small size it can wreak havoc when they lose their appetite. For future remember not to give a tiny baby meds. until they've grown for a couple months. Destiny mentioned giving a probiotic and Critical Care nutrition supplement, that will help. You can also try baby food chicken or try smashing one of his crickets until the guts come out the back and rub it lightly on his snout....that may spark his appetite. Offer water via syringe as well since he's probably dehydrated. Hopefully he'll bounce back.

I agree with ABHD.
1 ML per day is a really high dose for a baby that size and without the proper probiotics it is probably really upsetting to her tummy, attributing to her not wanting to eat. Please double check with your vet. When my dragon was prescribed Panacur it was .1 ML per day for 5 days and she was a bit bigger than yours is.

I am 99.9% sure there is a mix-up here! Not you fault though, the vet should have made the dosage and instructions very clear to you to avoid confusion... unless he is just confused himself!

*edit* Just read that you already completed the course of meds... sorry. In that case definitely get some reptile specific probiotic like benebac or some soy yogurt and try to give her some of that, it will help settle her tummy and help restore good bacteria that was killed off during treatment.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
