My beardie hates me?!?!?

I just came back from vacation of over a week and now my beardie hates me! Whenever I put my hand in his cage he puffs up, beard turns black, and he trys to bit me. My dad was taking care of him and he said he didn't do that to him. I fell really bad that I haven't been near for a week and I try to hold him but he trys to bit me. What can I do so he won't bit me when I go near him?

You'l probably have to start out slow again. The old trick of putting a worn t-shirt in his viv so he gets used to your scent again might work. Make sure you have food in your hand when you approach him and if he goes to bite, put the food in the way. Feed him treats like wax worms and he'll see your hand as something nice rather than a threat.

Thanks. I just put a t shirt in and he's laying on it and licking it. I just tryed to hand feed him and he took it right away. Hopefully he gets use to me soon!
