yea i think the baths totally helped mojo with his first shed [that i know of at least] i am so happy to see all the orange that the sand left gone, except for the tip of his tail... :? .
The tip of the tail... Cloudy has the same issue, always the last to go. Glad the
bath helped the shed.
but oddly enough, one of my friends [whom also has a beardie] told me that they cannot swim at all? maybe that they cant swim in anything deep?
just curious, ill have to get a bigger container to give her really open reign to try out swimming.
Well, it may not be their area of expertise, but many beardies swim, and clearly enjoy it. It's darned cute, I must say. But yes, it is important that they be able to stand in the water as well, for safely purposes. Our girl will stand a bit and then dunk under and swim a bit, little legs just like a frog. That said, when she was younger we had an incident where I was switching her up to a newer container, a little bigger as she was growing, and I accidentally filled the container a bit high. When I put her in she started swimming like crazy in a panic because it was too deep. I quickly placed her log in there and she climbed atop... I felt AWFUL for those seconds of panic in her.
But as to the swimming? She was quite adept at it when she needed to be. But this was definitely an example of what NOT to do, as she was clearly upset by it. *sigh* She received many extra cuddles that day!
I have viewed a videos on you tube where people have their dragons "swimming" in way too deep of water, and thinking it's funny or cute, but in reality, you can see the dragon is not so much swimming but clambering for solid ground, scratching at the side of the tub. It breaks my heart.
The best,
Em
