I have noticed this past week my 6 month old female bearded dragon, Penny, has been going into her cave after she eats and I can't see but it sounds like she is digging. She never goes in her cave to begin with so its weird. I know some females do this if they are going to lay eggs but isn't she way too young? Maybe its nothing?

My female has went through stages where she constantly dug when she was younger. She often tries to dig my neck when she's snuggling up to me. In the wild they dig to find either a) a cool spot away from the sun or b) to keep warm. Completely normal part of their behaviour. :D

I just got a baby bearded dragon as well, about 6-7inches (not sure how old that is) and he also keeps digging as well. If they dig to get to a cool area does this mean he's too hot? He also goes up on his rock and gapes quite a bit, I've read this could mean he's too hot but I've also read that this means he's at the perfect temperature. Should I be concerned about this?

Having his mouth open is good, it means its hot enough its just there way of sweating.

Its part of their natural behaviour to dig, for example put a beardie on sand and they will dig themselves a little borrow to lie in and sleep in.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
