I have posted this is another thread, but I thought it would get more noticed here....
Bad news
As I've had him a few months now, and he had a few watery poos, I got really worried that he had something wrong with him. I thought I was being paranoid but turns out not. I sent a faecal sample to a pet lab, and I got these results. they're fairly confusing, but he needs treatment.
I'm so upset! he seems fine but obviously he's not. can anyone tell me a little more about what the results mean? I have a very basic knowledge, and will worry if I dont know what exactly is wrong
MICROBIOLOGY
Culture Aerobic cultures show a heeavy mixed growth consistent
with normal faecal flora.
Salmonella PRESUMPTIVE POSITIVE
Confirmation and serotype to follow
Augmentin Sensitive
Ceftazidime Sensitive
Gentamicin Sensitive
Amikacin Sensitive
Enrofloxacin Sensitive
Marbofloxacin Sensitive
Doxycycline Sensitive
Metronidazole RESISTANT
Campylobacter Negative
Yeasts Negative
++ Aspergillus niger isolated
Direct NUMEROUS NEMATODE OVA AND COCCIDIA SEEN
Cryptosporidium Negative
Concentrate As above - No further ova, cysts or parsaites seen
*VETERINARY TREATMENT REQUIRED*
Please make an appointment and take this report to your
local exotic veterinarian to obtain relevant advice and
treatment
