2 months ago we bought 2 baby bearded dragons. a month ago we took 1 back due to not knowing the sexes of them and worrying they would breed or fight. for the last 3 weeks our baby beardie will not allow us to touch or hold it. he/she jumps and runs when we go near him/her. does anyone know why this is? what should we do?

Thank you will give that a try. Are baby bearded dragons usually jumpy? only he/she let us hold him/her at first!

Yes, they can be jumpy when they are young. I handled one just yesterday that had not been held much. It is a approximately 2-3 months old. It ran away, it jumped out of my hands, it even deliberately bit down on my finger. All of this was done out of fear of the unknown. It was not used to being handled, and had not been socialized. After all of these reactions by this little beaby beardie...What does he do next? He waved his arm is submission! Coming from above, I am sure it appeared that I was a predator about to make a meal out of him. If you must come down from above him, then try to move up beside him. Let him check you out. He will probably flick his tongue at you. That is normal. They have a Jacob's Organ, which, when they flick their tongues out, processes info to their brain. Talk softly to him, handle him a bit each day. See if he will let you hand feed him. If you feed crix, you can hold the crix by the bottom of the trwo back legs. This will enable the crix to move, thus gaining your beardies\'s attention. Don't worry about the beardie biting you. They are great at grabbing the prey without grabbing you. lol

My bearded dragon is jumpy too ! We have 2 in seperate cages Boucher is a boy Dixie is a girl. They have very different personalities Boucher does not jump goes to bed early is more fussy when he eats. Dixie is a jumping bean. She used to jump right out of my hand. I have been sitting on the floor more with her so she won't jump as far. When I first got her she wanted nothing to do with me I tried to hold her a few times a day even if it was just a couple of minutes. I am also a new owner. Sunday night she sat with me for over an hour. She has an iron stomach and she is up until all of the lights are out.
I used to sit her on my hand in her tank or a bathing container. Mine likes to act like shes hiding.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
